The area was fantastic

Perfect location, lovely and quiet with lots of walking from the property

Overall it was a nice stay, but I probably wouldn’t stay there again.

I liked the separate bedrooms and privacy that you got with the location. The floors were clean.

It could have been much cleaner. Like the towels for example. As soon as they got a bit wet they stank like old, dirty and dump towels. Bathroom went didn’t work so it was very misty and wet when taken shower. Windows could have been clean. Was a lot of spiders in the property. Couch covers could have been washes as they were very dirty. Pots and pans were badly scratched. There were no bin bags. We needed to buy our own. There were nice big windows, but a lot of bungalows facing each other, so could have done with some day curtains. The vacuum could have been proper cleaned as when povered it stunk like wet dog. Nothing to welcome you. No salt or sugar or hot chocolate/coffee/tea packs.

Nice location, good value

The bungalow was in a pleasant location and nice and quiet. It was clean and well decorated. It got quite chilly at night and I asked for extra blankets which were given to me. All in all it was a pleasant stay.

I found the electric cooker hard to work out and there was no instructions as to how to get the oven working but after randomly pushing every button it suddenly came to life. Similarly, the heater initially turned on but turned itself off half an hour later and i couldn't work out how to adjust it.

Good value for money

Lovely location, very quiet and secluded area , if you go by car you can get everywhere from there . 25 min to Newquay. Good for families who don’t like hustle and bustle in big cities xx

First time we were there 3 years ago and what I noticed is no improvement at all. All is the same even worse. The playground for kids used to have a swing, but today it’s missing and nobody going to fix it. The carpets in our bungalow are dirty and stinky . I think they could done better the kids activities because the most families come with kids and trampoline for example would be benefit xx

Just fantastic

The property was beautifully located, just a short drive from Porthtowan beach. It was clean, comfortable and silent; the only thing you could hear were birds and the occasional horse whinny.

A great location with very comfortable, well equiped accommodaion and at a reasonable price.

This self catering chalet was clean, comfortable, well equipped and in a very quite location. A decent kitchen area with fridge (including an important icebox for those G&T's), kettle, toaster, microwave and conventional oven and hobs. The bathroom/loo was more than adequate, and the shower unit was superb!

The living room/area had a large rug in front of the three seater couch, which was a lethal trip hazard as it was on a laminated flooring, and very nearly had someone going head over heels when walking across it, so it was removed for the duration of the stay! Only other, "elephant in the room" is the single track lane leading down to the site, which apart from a short concrete length is just a dirt track with a surface only a 4x4 vehicle would struggle to drive on, with an uneven pot holed and partly washed away area, giving any suspension a risk of serious damage.

Pleasant and good value

The bungalow was well equipped and clean on arrival. Parking wasn't directly next to the property but was close by. The location was certaily in a quiet location, the plus side was peace and quiet but the downside being an awkward 500m drive down an unmade up lane. fine for 4X4 but not for low profile fitted cars. The dog had a lovely time running in the fields and children would have had a very good time on the swings and slides!

Possibly some of the equipment could do with being updated/improved. The frying pans for example were old and in not very good condition.

Most enjoyable stay

The chalet was very good and the booking and arrival process straightforward. The accommodation was clean and tidy. The orchard-like area where the seven chalets are located was safe and free from traffic noise. The host was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The location is very close to a number of beaches on the north Cornwall coast. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to return at some point.

A section of the track down to the site is unmade. It is single car width but there are a few passing places. Several dog walkers to dodge!

Property was clean, the space was arranged in a very practical way, everything we needed was pretty much there. Pleasant location but a bit remote. You need a car to get to the nearest beach and facilities. Enough parking space for everyone.

The dishes and cutlery in the cupboards a bit sticky. Road that leads to the property was challenging - very narrow and bumpy. Requires reversing when meeting oncoming traffic.

Great, well-priced base from which to explore Cornwall

It was small but perfectly formed, lots of hot water, very clean and in a lovely setting within lots of trees and green fields.

Very little information in the property about the surrounding area and what info there was was a little inaccurate; the local restaurant based at the old school was closed which meant nowhere to eat out in Mount Hawke itself. I understand that the owners had to remove all the info due to covid restrictions, however, we missed this element.

The bungalows were spaced apart so you did not feel you were on top of your neighbours. Each had their own picnic tables tucked away. The owners seemed to have made a lot of effort to ensure privacy. The location was beautiful. Very peaceful. No public through road. Amazing walks. Great for stargazing!
