We had such a wonderful stay! The place is run by a lovely family who made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. They are incredibly kind and friendly—we even had the chance to enjoy coffee together and talk about our cultures. They truly do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. Every morning they prepare breakfast themselves, and the homemade jams were absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. It doesn’t feel like staying at a hotel; it feels more like visiting a friend’s summer house. We highly recommend both the property and its location. We definitely hope to come back more often. It’s the perfect place for a quiet and relaxing weekend getaway.

We had amazing 2-nights stay in Hoshi no Akari. The staff speaks good English and was very careful about all our needs. They also gave us a ride to the bus stop after check out! Dinner and breakfast are absolutely tasty and were different each day. The private bath outside is all you need after a day of exploring and wearing kimono in hotel was so comfortable.

They are quite strict about the meals time: breakfast is quite late (8:30/9) and dinner quite early (18/18:30) so there is little time left to explore everything Hakone has to offer and be on time for meals. Not a big deal though and going back earlier means having more time for enjoying the hotel facilicies.

Very nice property to stay at , very quiet , nice grounds with swimming pool , your own private little abode . Owners very accommodating , will go to great length to make sure your stay is as comfortable as can be , very approachable , nice breakfast served . Great place to stay'

Nothing really

We enjoyed our stay there very much. It was a very nice room with a little seating area and patio. It is located on a little farm like home with a handful of rooms available. The hosts were incredibly nice and served us a very delicious breakfast in their beautiful covered patio facility. We would definitely stay there again! It was enchanting.

The only small downside it it is not in the heart of town, had to use google maps to find it. It is slightly off the beaten path, but not too far.
