About this cabin rental

Our beautiful log cabin is located on the top of a ridge on Bell Mountain, looking out over Stone Mountain State Park. It sits on 18 secluded acres, most of which drops off into the valley. At the base of the property runs a creek, which features a 7 ft waterfall with cold and refreshing water. There are both front and back porches, with the back porch views looking out over protected lands with mountains as the back drop.

There are two bedrooms with doors (one with a king bed and one with a queen bed). There is also a loft that is essentially another bedroom, with a queen bed and a full bathroom. The master bedroom also has its own bathroom, while the 2nd bedroom downstairs you must walk a few feet across the hall to access. We also off a queen size plush air mattress for an additional 2 guests (total 8), with a built in pump.

There is a well-equipped kitchen, with an old-style gas stove, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee pot. There is a table that seats 4, as well as a larger dining table that seats 6, but a leaf can be added to accommodate bigger groups. There is also an island with two stools at it. In the living room there is a couch and a love seat, with a 55" Roku tv w/ access to netflix/amazon etc (must login using your own accounts). There are some free channels with the tv as well. Also in the living room is a little breakfast nook overlooking the mountain views.

There is an outdoor fire pit and picnic table. Additional outdoor chairs available for bigger groups if needed.

There are corn hole boards at the property. There is also a grill that can be used if desired.

We are surrounded by nature here, including the 6,400-acre Thurmond-Chatham game lands, 14,000+ acre Stone Mountain State Park, 7,000+ acre Doughton Park, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is only approximately 20 miles from the house! We are also located near to the Yadkin Valley Wine Trail, a collection of 36+ wineries and vineyards. Stone Mountain Golf Club is just mnutes away, and the High Meadows Golf club is not far off either. Only 2.5 miles from the house there is access to a beautiful seasonally stocked trout stream.

For water activities:
Seasonal trout fishing available at a stream 2.5 miles from the house and also in Stone Mountain State Park right up the road (about 5 miles).

On the water activities try one of the following (40min to an hour or so away)
-foothills outdoor adventure
- Roaring River canoe rentals

We are approximately 25 minutes from Elkin, Jonesville, N.Wilkesboro & Wilkesboro, Sparta, 1 hour from Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Statesville, Galax, Jefferson, Boone / Blowing Rock, 1.5-2 hours from Charlotte, 2.5-3 hours from Raleigh / Durham.

Loved staying at this beautiful cabin. Sometimes when you stay at places the kitchen lacks good quality pots and pans. This cabin had a wonderful kitchen stocked with excellent pots and pans. The entire place was beautiful and you can’t beat the views. So comfortable and cozy.

Absolutely gorgeous and spacious cabin with an amazing view. The host was very responsive to questions. Check in and check out was smooth. The location is remote and private. We cooked most of our meals at the cabin. There were plenty of pots, pans, and dishes. Having a dishwasher and laundry available was very nice!We spent a lot of time on the back porch admiring the view. It rained for one day of our stay, and it was very peaceful watching the storm move over the mountains. We tried making our way to the waterfall, but couldn’t quite make it. It gets very steep toward the bottom of the trail. The only negative thing about our trip was the biting midges that came out in the evening (no-see-ums). This is obviously out of the owner’s control, but be aware if you have bad reactions to the bites. Myself, husband, and son got tore up pretty bad, but they didn’t bite our daughter at all.Overall, highly recommend this cabin if you like peace, privacy, and enjoying nature while not compromising on comfort.

The cabin was what most would view traditionally as "heaven on earth". Between the adventurous mile drive up a set of twists that make chubby checkers jealous. The scenic cabin awaits at the very peak. As you "climb to glory" like the Army's 10th MTN Division motto states, you pull into a divided driveway with ample parking for multiple vehicles. The cabin is gorgeous. The instructions were clear, efficient and professionally written. The cost for a week in the cabin, was literally half of what the hotels in north wilksboro wanted for 3 double bed rooms. Make sure you set an alarm and watch the stunning sunrise. I would recommend this cabin and it's team to anyone and everyone I care about. Five star rating !!!
