Overnight Stay

Last minute booking - Easy check in - all done online/whatsapp - so didn’t meet the host but very clear instructions. Right next door to the train station and close to bus stops for public transport required. Good location for all Altea’s amenities - Marina, beach, old town

Very disappointing hotel. On a major, busy, noisy road with no proper pavement at the entrance.

Beds were very comfortable. Hotel was unique and very near the beach.

We never saw a member of staff, even when we asked for someone to come and empty the bin which was full of the previous guests food waste, nobody came. The maid came at siesta time (15:10) the next day and we had to vacate the room to allow her to clean it. You have to contact the owners by Whatsapp, there is no face to face contact at any time during your stay. They emailed me to say they wanted to surprise me and make my stay extra special if I had a special reason for my trip. I stated it was my birthday and they had proof of this. However, there was no surprise, all I expected was a chocolate on the bed. I booked a monument view room and my view was some horrible looking flats 15 feet away on the busy N332 but again, there was no way to talk to someone about this. Guests should at least be greeted when they arrive at a reasonable hour of the day (14:30). No lights in the coffee lounge so we couldn't make a coffee our first night there.

Pleasant!

The building has been very nicely renovated keeping lots of the original details. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is good for beach & old town.

A little bit too much noise from the traffic. We had a problem with the A/C which was good and effective but we could not understand how to adjust the auto settings. It was too cold even when we chose 26 degrees.

Nice stay in the centre near beach

Beautifully restored building close to the beach and right next to train station. They have coffee and tea for guests in the common area. Nice touch

Wifi wasn’t working well and we could not get a signal in the room, only in the reception area. Walls are not soundproofed enough and could hear people in the next room talking. Hotel has a dog friendly policy so we could hear the barking dog in the next room. We did complain and they dealt with it in a very profesional way.

Lovely weekend spent here. Loved the location. We reccomend.

It was a ideal location. Great value for money. Lobely decorated. Free coffee, tea, beers and snacks in the communal area. We arrived late at night and it was easy getting into the building and into our room. We enjoyed a chill on the terrace on the top of the building.

I think I have said it all I have nothing but praise

The property was a treasure. It’s been a hotel since 1920 and restored to a very high standard although the rooms were bijou, you had everything that you needed and the owner Victoria happily offered the use of the solarium for morning coffee or evening drinks and Vita was there to take care of you and went above and beyond to ensure your stay was as pleasant and comfortable that it could be

A week vacation

The property is a beautiful old building high ceilings, they have done a beautiful renovation. Location one minute to the beach well there’s lots and lots of restaurants. The property is really really really clean and the staff and cleaning lady were really friendly and helpful

Lovely historic building close to the front but also a busy road.

We loved the tiles and the old building, the proximity to the sea and the old town. The check in was easy and the staff were helpful. there is a nice lounge with teas and coffee available.

We really did not like how close the entrance door is to the main road, the road is less than a meter from the busy road. We had a young baby in a pram visit us and two little dogs with us, so it did not feel safe.

East check-in, quality location and rooms. Warm welcome from the owner and what I assumed were her 2 children. I also had 2 dogs with me which were no trouble at all for the owner.

fascinating historic building and location . original tiled floor and clever use of railway fittings . easy access to both beach and old town . lovely roof terrace ! fabulous breakfast on the railway platform , very cool ! fresh orange juice , fab coffe , tostadas !! 🙏🏻

there was nothing we didn’t like . as it is next to a railway , some people may not like it !Also , the bar and kitchen close at 4 pm so ,be mindful about that !!

There was one young lady which was great. She was the housekeeper when we arrived and the waiter next day for breakfast. She was great.

The best chic hotel in Altea

I liked everything about the property. The building has more than 100 years old but it is fully renovated and has lots of old details. Alex gave us a tour explaining us the full history. The room is very comfortable and you well insulated as you cannot hear noise from outside. The breakfast is the best, fresh made and bake you have a lot of choices. It is on a perfect location as you can walk to the city center in 5min and the beach just across the road.

No facilities in the room to make tea or coffee and the restaurant closes at 4pm so no drinks available The fridge was very noisy !

Very disappointing for the price we paid.

The place is nicely renovated.

The first night there was no air conditioning, the fridge wasn’t working and we had nobody attending until 11.30 at night. The problems were not solved until the following afternoon. We were told that breakfast starts at 8 am but it still wasn’t open at 8.15am and we had to leave.

Basic but good

We only had one night, it was a good location for the sea front & the old town, although a steep walk to the old town but we knew that. It was unusual in the fact that it was next to the tramline but not noisy & the breakfast was on the platform a first for us.

I liked EVERYTHING. It is a beautifully restored hotel, with the floor tile preserved. Very beautiful. You feel apart of history. Alex, who manages the hotel is very personable. I was traveling solo and I felt well taken care of, like family. The rooms are nicely decorated. Alex and his wife and the entire staff are very professional, friendly and full of good suggestions. I highly recommend the Breakfast and Lunch. Muy Fantastico. The art work is by local artists and students. I was not there on a Friday evening, but they have models who pose for students and guests to paint. sound fun to me. The location is close to the beach and central Plaza.
