If you’re looking for Heaven - you’ve found it! It didn’t hurt that we had full sunshine, every day, from dawn to dusk, but the apartment is so luxurious, I reckon we’d have loved it even if it had been raining the entire time. To start with, the seascape literally takes your breath away. On a clear day you can see both the Rock of Gibraltar - and Africa. The sandy beach, about 10 metres away, was quiet and unspoiled. There’s a long promenade that starts about 100 metres from the apartment and a couple of great little beach restaurants within walking distance. One of them, Sonora, has a super-cool vibe. For those (like me) who prefer to look at the sea rather than swim in it, the pool at Heaven is very large and impeccably clean, and the water is warm, soft and inviting. The gardens are well-maintained, as is the gym and sauna. There’s also a table-tennis table. The apartment itself is lavishly decorated and incredibly well-appointed. All bedrooms have large comfortable beds and generous-sized ensuites, but they also have generous-sized TV’s. As does the kitchen. The one in the living room must be at least 70”. All the TV’s have access to the most comprehensive list of stations I’ve ever come across. There’s a highly sophisticated music system and several Alexa’s. The kitchen has clearly been put together by a proper chef. It’s certainly better equipped than any other apartment or villa I’ve stayed in. Come to think of it, it’s better than my own. Apart from a battery of sun-loungers, a large outdoor suite and a generous-sized dining table and chairs, the terrace has a very large BBQ (which we didn’t use) and an even larger Jacuzzi (which we did). And knocking back a glass of Cava in a frenzy of bubbles, as the sun goes down, with the Mediterranean spread out in front of you, and the Alexa playing any piece of music you can think of, is about as hedonistic as it gets.
