Great location to use as a base to explore the Highlands. We did a daytrip to the Isle of Skye, a day to tour the length of Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, and Inverness. We also visited the Cairngorm Mountain Railway and Neptune's Staircase on the Caledonian Canal.

We had a really nice time staying at the lodge during January. The location was great for hill walking and sightseeing in the surrounding area and the lodge was very cosy and peaceful with amazing views of the mountains.
The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. We are especially grateful for all their help during the snowy weather.

The lodge itself was clean and reasonable comfortable but was fairly cramped with small beds and a lack of basic stuff e.g. only 5 plates even though it was a lodge for 6 and little to no cutlery. The location is good if you want to be away from main roads but the single track road takes about 10-15mins to get to a main road.
