Great location to use as a base to explore the Highlands. We did a daytrip to the Isle of Skye, a day to tour the length of Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, and Inverness. We also visited the Cairngorm Mountain Railway and Neptune's Staircase on the Caledonian Canal.

The lodge itself was clean and reasonable comfortable but was fairly cramped with small beds and a lack of basic stuff e.g. only 5 plates even though it was a lodge for 6 and little to no cutlery. The location is good if you want to be away from main roads but the single track road takes about 10-15mins to get to a main road.

We had a really nice time staying at the lodge during January. The location was great for hill walking and sightseeing in the surrounding area and the lodge was very cosy and peaceful with amazing views of the mountains. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. We are especially grateful for all their help during the snowy weather.

Lochaber lodge was a nice accomodation in the Scottish Highlands. It was not very spacious for 5 people, but well equipped with everything we needed, tidy and clean. We had a pleasant stay and used the lodge as a starting place to the area. The place was a little bit isolated, it was an about 30 min drive to the next supermarket (or other store at all) to buy some food. So, a car is mandatory to have in place.

The location of the property was amazing. We loved staying there especially the kids. There are few things missing like iron,salt and suger etc. But otherwise it was a good stay

The property is nicely situated, but a long drive on a single track road to get there. The beds are quite small. There was a big kitchen but there was only a bare minimum off utensils. No theecloth or dishcloth. Difficult to clean up. They want you to seperate your glass, paper etc . But they don't provide bags to do it. There was nobody at the reception the times we were there.

My family’s first stay in Lochaber, couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful location. Gorgeous view of the Nevis range from outside my bedroom window. Dinner on the patio with view of Ben Nevis and sheep and cow on the fields all around us. We spotted a few boats going up the Caledonian canal nearby. Perfect place for peaceful retreat in natural beauty.

The cabin and location are nice and we enjoyed our stay. There are a couple of things to know before booking though. First if you’re like me & not really used to two-way single track roads, there’s 6 miles of this white knuckle driving to get here. Not a knock against the place but just something to know up front; and if you’re going to be driving in the Highlands you need to quickly get comfortable on those roads. Also, there’s not typically anyone at reception unless someone is checking in or out. Contrary to the photos you can’t get to or really even see the canal from most of the cabins, so it’s about a mile walk down that road to get to the lock bridge and walking trails. They’re great once you get there though. Finally, and this is specific for Lewis, there is one tree that perfectly blocks the view of Ben Nevis. All that said, this a nice, clean, quiet, private place to use as a base for your visit to the Highlands.

After a crowded (but wonderful!) stay in the city this was the perfect scenic, pastoral location to enjoy the beauty of Scotland. We were easily able to take tours from here to Loch Ness and Isle of Skye. The cabin had everything we needed to make it a home away from home.

We had a nice time going in different directions from this property, even in the heavy rain we had here. The laundry was definitely a plus. And the deer was enjoyed by the kids. The view was great of the mountains, the canal and the sheep. The lodge was very nice and everyone had their own bed. Couldn't figure out the foldout couch, so one slept on the couch, which was fine. The 2 bathrooms were a plus for our group of 6.

We had a fab stay at the sleeps losge. The only issue we noticed was that the curtains in the main bedroom had some mould and the carpet felt slightly damp. This was only noticed on the 2nd day of our stay. Otherwise the lodge was great!

Property in need of upgrade - decking burned covered by a broken plastic container full of salt! Dish washer was not very modern, sofa very worn and uncomfortable and in general the lodge needs modernised and decor updated! If not for weather we would have been disappointed!

Eine wunderbare, großzügige und gut ausgestattete Unterkunft. Herrliche Terrasse und schönes Wohnzimmer mit Blick auf u.a. Ben Nevis. Zum Einkaufen muss man zwischen 3 (Spar in Spean Bridge) oder 5 Meilen (Coop Banavie) fahren - idealerweise vorher Lebensmittel Einkaufen. Ansonsten gibt es bei Bedarf jederzeit Support seitens des Vermieters. Für uns war es ein prima Ausgangspunkt für unsere Aktivitäten in dieser Region.

Das Haus bietet Platz für 6 Personen mit 4 Einzelbetten und 1 Doppelbett in 3 Räumen. Die Einzelbetten sind 80 cm breit und durch einen Nachttisch mit 40 cm Breite getrennt. Außerdem befinden sich ein kleiner Schrank und in einem Raum ein kleiner Tisch darin. Mehr geben die Räume nicht her. Die Wände sind Leichtbau ohne Lärmschutz. Der Wohn- und Essbereich ist angemessen und bietet eine großartige Aussicht. Die zwei Bäder sind klein, aber ausreichend und bei mehreren Personen angenehm. Das Haus wird erreicht über eine Single-Track-Road.

Tolle Ausstattung, sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter vor Ort. (Eine defekte Dusche wurde sofort repariert. Die Wäsche konnten wir sogar waschen und trocknen lassen und bekamen sie ordentlich zusammengelegt wieder!) Die Lage ist mitten in den Bergen, so dass man auch von dort aus ein bisschen wandern kann. Aber auch Fort William ist nah, 20 Minuten mit dem Auto. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen.

Die als “Luxury Mountain Lodge” inserierte Unterkunft ist von dem Anspruch luxuriös zu sein, sehr weit entfernt. Im Grunde genommen ist es ein ziemlich in die Jahre gekommener Bungalow auf ziemlich niedrigem Standard. Dort ist einfach in den letzten Jahren keinerlei Pflege mehr investiert worden. Möglicherweise hatten wir auch einfach nur Pech und die Vormieter haben einen großen Teil zum Zustand beigetragen. Ein kleiner Einblick: das Waschbecken zerplatzt, die Dusche funktionsuntüchtig und in einem eher ekligen Zustand, die Toilette funktioniert nur auf gut Zureden, die Küche löst sich teilweise in ihre Bestandteile auf und die WZ Stühle waren so verfleckt, dass man da definitiv nicht drauf sitzen wolle. Wie gesagt, nur ein kleiner Einblick.... Zur Ehrenrettung muss man sagen, nach entsprechender Beschwerde wurde umgehend versucht, wenigsten etwas Abhilfe zu schaffen. Die Lage ist genial, für jemand der wirklich Ruhe sucht.
