We stayed here for a brief weekend getaway to attend horse races at Oaklawn. The location was within a 3 minute drive from downtown and offered a quiet, secluded stay. The inside is slightly outdated but got the job done. Overall, pleasant. The one thing I would note is when we booked we were shown the ‘Monet’ unit and ended up in the ‘Mona Lisa.’

There was a gas heater but no CO detector and the smoke detectors were taken down. One was still up but the note said it would go off if the heater was on without the fans being on. Huge safety issues on both counts and against code. Microwave had rust on inside of door, so I know it was older and it started to catch fire when we tried to use it just to warm up something. I tried to e-mail host but internet was spotty even though the password was accepted so the e-mail didn’t go through. Several outlets didn’t work either. There were dirty linens on porch when we checked in and more wet towels in the bathroom. Outside steps were full of leaves and twigs,etc. which we had to clean, so we wouldn’t trip. It looked cute, bed was comfortable, was convenient location but too many issues. Would not use again
