Came for a (very relaxed) bachelorette party and was not disappointed. The house is amazing with tons to look at, the grounds were stunning, the pool was fab, and the horses were such a fun surprise! Lora was so accommodating and easy to get in touch with. Also, if Chef Doug is available, snag him!! He was one of the best parts of the weekend!

Our family stayed at this beautiful estate for my daughter’s wedding. Her wedding was also here with the Smoky Mountains as a backdrop. Just beautiful! Special thanks to Dallas and Andrea who made it stress free. Andrea, the personal chef, made spectacular gluten-free dishes. Dallas was the officiant and so much more!

Very relaxing environment with all we needed for linens, kitchen dishes/cookware. Never used pool(too cool). Stables had several horses and a newborn colt. Enjoyed feeding carrots to horses. One bedroom had large tub, no shower and poor water pressure. Bedrooms are very large. Upgrading to walk-in showers would be a plus. Very nice setting with spectacular views. Close to Waynesville and Asheville.

The house is exactly as it shows in the pictures and the host is an excellent communicator and very accommodating. The property is beautiful and peaceful and the pool was perfect. My only complaint is that the description of the property does not mention the owner lives in an apartment attached to the rear of the house. Don’t get me wrong we never felt inconvenienced, or inhibited in any way, but when you rent something expecting to be on a secluded farm it’s a little shocking when you realize the owner is 10 feet away at all times. Other than that it is exactly as advertised and we enjoyed our stay.

I rented this property for a weekend of fun with family and friends and threw a murder mystery party. The house was absolutely perfect for the event and we all had the best time! Lora was an incredible host and so easy to communicate with! The house itself was great! It was better than the pictures and the horses were a really fun added touch to the magic of this place! The views and property are gorgeous. Everywhere that you look outside is truly beautiful. The house could use a serious deep cleaning, lots of declittering and some simple convenience upgrades. We had two children at the house and the amount of things inside the house that can easily fall or be knocked over is quite overwhelming. We kept the kids outside as much as possible. Definitely an adult house, not set up for kids. Also, the bathrooms do not have towel bars for hanging wet things and all bathrooms could use and upgrade and really good cleaning. We enjoyed our stay because of the beautiful weather, views and pool but will not be coming back.

We rented the Loralei for Thanksgiving week to stay in and to host a rehearsal dinner for my son’s wedding. Lora is the most wonderful and easiest and accommodating hostess to work with and coordinate an event. She made everything so stress free as possible and welcomed us into her venue like it was our home and we were family. I couldn’t give her enough praise for how happy we were with everything. Thank you Lora!! It’s a gorgeous back drop for pictures for a wedding or any event!!

Pretty nice place. The kitchen was a bit shop worn but overall the house was great for a family vacation. It was a bit far from Asheville, where most of the sites were, but a 15 to 20 minute drive wasn't a deal breaker. Great views from everywhere on the property

This house was designed as an event venue, weddings etc. it also makes a good vacation for a large family. We had our 4 adult children, 2 spouses and one baby and still had an unused bedroom. 5 of the bedrooms were very spacious and well decorated. Each has a large private bath. I wish the tubs were updated to walk-in showers. Some of the decorations were very “old lady” stuff. Some are downright creepy. There is a headless mannequin wearing a 50 year old wedding dress. SUPER CREEPY! But by the end of our stay, it became a real practical joke. We put it in the downstairs bathroom and scared my 35-year old son half to death. The lady who built the house won a bunch of horse riding awards so there is an equestrian theme throughout. The house is extremely comfortable and the temperature is controlled perfectly in every room. There are no drafts and no cold spots. The beds and coverings are the highest quality. House is super quiet. There is only one TV in the main living area. None in the bedrooms which was a bonus to keep the family together. Had a great time visiting the horses in the barn. The scenery is not spectacular but it is beautiful peaceful and pastoral. Kitchen is spacious and has plenty of cooking stuff, although utensils did not match and were confusing. Top of the line appliances with 6 top Jenn aire gas range. We had great fun with the grand piano (except old and out of tune). Lots of fun with plastic bowling pins. Recommended modifications: - change old lady decor to anything else - take out piano and put in pool table - remove tacky non-functioning fake concrete water feature near entrance - change out all tubs to modern walk-in showers - tidy up water feature that feeds into goldfish pond - create new out door fire feature on hill above waterfall - get at least 2 king beds - develop a consistent theme with the furniture. This property is $200,000 away from being eligible to be listed as an elite boutique accommodation.

The house was beautiful. The various living spaces as well as outdoor areas were so numerous that if you needed some time away from your group you could easily find a place. The beds were comfortable. Kitchen very well stocked and spacious. We spent much of our time in the kitchen cooking and talking. The grounds were beautiful and the morning mountain mist, deer and wild turkeys were an added bonus! We hope to return next year.

Eight of us ladies rented the property for a bachelorette weekend. The estate had antique charm and everyone enjoyed petting the horses down at the stable. I would highly recommend this property due to its stunning views, easy accommodation of large parties, and Southern country feel. It’s a quick drive down to Asheville if you and your party are looking for excitement. The bedrooms were a delightful sleep, each with their own theme and bathroom.

We spent 4 nights at this beautiful home for a family reunion. Such a grand home to enjoy... beautiful decorations, comfortable beds, plenty of space to visit and an amazingly equipped kitchen. The pool and back porch were especially enjoyed on the hot July days. We had one very well raised 10 year old with us who did extremely well respecting the boundaries of how to stay in someone else’s home, I would expect any child who stayed here to do the same. Since so much effort has been made to display a large variety of antiques this is not a home for children to run and play indoors... plenty of space outside for that. Lora the owner communicates best by texts and was very accommodating to answer all of our questions before, after and during our stay. I was so pleased to have found such a beautiful home at such a reasonable price to enjoy our time together for our once a year gathering. I would definitely recommend this home as a place for large groups who come to the Canton NC area.

This property is beautiful, wonderful setting and view. The house is gorgeous with beautiful chandeliers and furnishings and was clean except for the stove top, oven and wine fridge. The pool was not functioning and was drained except for some green water in the very bottom. It looked as if the liner had torn away from the seam at the top. I discovered that the pool was non-functioning when I visited the property about 5 weeks before our stay. I'm not sure when the actual damage to the pool occurred but the water was very green upon my visit. There were minor maintenance issues such as loose and ill-fitting toilet seats and doors. The door to our bathroom in the lavender room would not close. The shower in the master bedroom downstairs does not function properly as all the jets and handheld do not work. In the master the doors did not open to the patio outside, handles were missing and a blind was broken.The beds in the lavender room and the master bedroom downstairs were not comfortable but I was told some of the other beds were fine. I had a difficult time contacting the owner about checking in which caused me anxiety. I discovered the owner runs another business and the best way to contact her is by text. We held an after wedding brunch there and were allowed to use the fine serving pieces as well as 5 round tableclothes and water pitchers. This was very helpful with presenting our brunch. The brunch was held outside on the brick in front of the pool ( which unfortunately was not beautiful). Overall it is a beautiful location and just needs better maintenance. I was told at one point there would be trailers with motorcycles belonging to the next renters on the property before our stay was over but fortunately this did not happen. Folks should be aware there is a horse barn also on the property that may have some activity but this would have to be confirmed by the owner. There are three different thermostats in the house to control the AC but no ceiling fans in any of the rooms. There was a box fan in the master. We did have plenty of hot water. I would stay here again, it presented very well for our function.

We fell in love with the online photos. But the real thing is even better. We’ve never stayed in such a gorgeous house, set amid such beautiful scenery. The Lorelei is amazing and I can’t believe this was in our price range. If this is in your search, stop looking, and get booking. You’ll be glad you did. We walked the grounds, daily, pet the horses in the stable, hung out by the pool, congregated in the huge kitchen, did photo shoots on the grand staircase, rocked on the sprawling porches, and enjoyed every minute of our time in this gorgeous rental.

A beautiful and memorable place to stay! We came here for a weekend with our five children. We were hoping to enjoy the pool and beautiful mountain views. We were not disappointed. This is a well-kept spacious house. There is a piano for practicing. Lovely porches.The kitchen is certainly well equipped. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating to our requests. Our only regret was that we did not have more time to enjoy the variety of rooms in the house. The Decour is amazing and should impress any history buff. I hope we can return in the summer. Our family stayed here AND our daughter got married here! What an amazing experience. The views from the house are spectacular. Lora was so easy to work with and even gave us a personal tour of the home upon our arrival. We had 9 adults and 2 children with us, and everyone had their own room and bathroom. The rooms are all thoughtfully and beautifully decorated with different themes, and very comfortable beds. The kitchen was fantastic, we prepared several meals there. We made good use of the pool too. I can't put into words how happy we all were to stay here, the entire house was very clean and Lora saw to our every need. We enjoyed stargazing at night and how peaceful it was. We will definitely stay here again when in the Canton/Asheville area. Thank you Lora for making this such a fantastic trip.

I wish I could leave more than five stars! My entire family was able to enjoy this beautiful home for four days, and we loved every minute. We are so ready to go back (and we will). We couldn't have asked for more down-home hospitality, and the owner couldn't have been nicer! The place was spectacular - a real package deal - beautiful home (every bedroom has a full bath!), beautiful pool, beautiful views, and lovely, friendly people. There are a bunch surrounding towns with wonderful shops and restaurants, and the Biltmore was only a 30 minute drive. Thank you for a perfect place to have our little family reunion. In all sincerity, we didn't want to leave. If you stay here, you will be completely enchanted. See y'all next year (or sooner, if possible)!! We miss you already.
