Back on the market from Feb 2024:: Rural retreat - great family value.
Quality quiet property with rural outlook close to the city.
This smart renovation is light, clean and family friendly. Ideally suited to couples and families with 1 queen size bed in the master bedroom, a large sofa/queen bed in the lounge and up to 4 child-size beds in a separate childrens room. A unique architecturally designed conversion of the original cowshed, the Herringbone Cottage offers a peaceful farm setting where you can choose to simply rest and relax, or if you feel energetic there are trails for walking and biking nearby. The cottage is light, warm and sunny with a free standing wood fire for the colder months. The living area opens onto a concrete yard with views over tranquil green paddocks and grazing horses. Gas BBQ and two bikes provided. The interior decor of the cottage is reminiscent of the '50s and farming with blue and white china, decorative enamel ware and old fashioned storage containers. Books, over 200 DVD movies are available free to guests during their stay. For day trippers its an easy drive to Wellington, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, Porirua and the Wairarapa. Silverstream Village is just 7kms down Blue Mountains road with an excellent shopping centre, medical services and train. The cottage is ideal for couples and families, not for large groups of adults. Children must be supervised at all times. The cottage is a charming comfortable venue in a unique setting. Special conditions:
No smoking is allowed anywhere on the property, WIFI coverage is patchy, this is beyond our control. Sorry . We recommend you tether to your mobile devices. Children are welcome but must be closely supervised at all times as the cottage is set in a rural farm setting with natural hazards and large animals. Council Rubbish bags are provided.
After a long term tenant we are back on the market from Feb 2024.

A nice cottage on a property in Whitemans Valley which is converted cow shed. Really enjoyed having accommodation out of the busy city, but still close enough to amenities and Wellington City

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was definitely something different. Maybe think about connecting WIFI and clean up abit more as I had found there were certain areas in the house that weren't swept or mopped. The location is abit far out aswell. Thanks for letting my family & I stay 🙂
