Cottage In the Pines | Romantic Couple's Retreat

Location was close enough from The Village and other main locations.

We had a really hard time setting up the wifi network, turns out the main electric extension was shut off and was out of sight so resolving this took an hour worth of attempts.

The neighborhood was quiet and even though there were other cabins all around, we felt secluded. The fireplace was nice and provided a ton of heat. The kitchen was well stocked and everything was very very clean. The bed was quite comfortable just WAY too big for the room and there were plenty of blankets (but I wish there had been more than two pillows on the queen bed). The water was hot and pressure was good. The decor was cute but not overpowering and the furniture plentiful and quite comfortable. The deck was nice and bbq was clean.

I thought it was very odd that someone else's clothes are being stored in the armoire! Not only is that weird, but there was nowhere to hang OUR clothes. There is also a 2nd temporary armoire (very large clothes storage box?) behind the bedroom door making it impossible to open the door more than 2/3 of the way. Because the room is already super cramped due to the gigantice bed this made it super awkward to go in and out of the bedroom, which was necessary quite frequently since the deck with the bbq is outside the bedroom and the only bathroom is in the bedroom. The bed is beautiful and comfortable, but WAY WAY WAY too big for the room. I'm not sure why the vacuum and mops etc need to be stored in the living room...convenient for cleaning crew but not really what I want to see on my vacation. Lastly, and the thing that actually dropped my review score... the nit-picky rules and fines for every little thing was so excessive. If you didn't wash all your dishes...$25! If you didn't empty an ashtray...$25! And having to haul our own trash to a trash collection facility in town to avoid that fine is ridiculous after spending $200 for exactly 18 hours {check-in is late at 4:00 and check-out is so early at 10:00).
