Nestled in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, Lake Hiwassee is 93% U.S. Forest Service land, making it one of the region's most private and pristine lakes. Known for record-breaking fishing (a state-record 66-pound striped bass was caught here!), this lake is perfect for:

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) controls the lake levels—it’s full in summer and lower in fall, winter, and early spring. No worries! Our dock floats year-round on deep water frontage—it’s just a longer walk when the water is lower.

Great communication with owners, and very clean home. All the stocked items you could ever need. The stairs have been redone since our last stay and it is definitely an enhancement. We loved our trip!

We had a great experience at the Dock Holiday property on Lake Hiawassee. The property was very clean and everything was as described in the listing. Comfy beds, nice towels and linens and well stocked kitchen. Nice view of the lake from the deck and the lake itself is absolutely gorgeous. We went up for a weekend fishing trip. The kayaks and canoe were all well kept and we made use them. We caught a few fish, not as many as we would have liked but we can’t blame that on the hosts. The walk down to the water is a lot of steps but it is well maintained and not too step. Would definitely stay here again.

This home is so beautiful and the pictures do not do the house justice. Everything is beautiful and spotless and plenty of pots & pans & bowls & plates. The bedrooms are beautiful and the bed is really comfortable and has really nice bedding. The showers are super nice and the towels are very good quality and smells so clean. The only down side is the driveway it goes straight down but thankfully it’s not along driveway.We were not able to go to the dock because of bad knees, back & feet but the view from the deck was good enough.I hope I can come back to the house later with my family.Thank you for sharing your home.
