This is the second time we have stayed at the Plantation Cottage, and we really enjoy the serenity and quiet of this little simple cottage. NOT modern, but well appointed and charming in its own way. Once there we find we don't really want to leave, well except for walks to Tahiti Nui, Dolphin fish market, or the great beach just across the road. Napali Properties was attentive to any needs we had whenever we have stayed at one of their properties.

The cottage was exactly as advertised- very private and great location for accessing both the beach and the town of Hanalei. We very much enjoyed our stay!

We loved our stay at this charming cottage. Easy ten minute walk to town or the beach yet so remote that we could forget we’re in “modern” Kaua’i. Clean and perfect size for two. We made use of the huge lawn with the lawn games provided. We will return! Mahalo!

We've been traveling to Kauai multiple times a year for a decade. We wanted to spend a week right off of the beach in the sleepy little walkable town of Hanalei. There are very few vacation properties in Hanalei for a couple to rent and we felt that we scored on this little cottage. Upon checking in we discovered a very dated kitchen and bathroom. This would be FINE had we not paid a crazy premium to stay in Hanalei. We saw cockroaches almost daily in the kitchen which caused us to wash each dish before using it. We decided not to cook any food as a result. Not our first time at the island bug rodeo but I also expect a home of this price to have figured out how to keep the roaches out. The kitchen was dated and certainly did not make cooking very desirable. The bathroom shower hosted a centipede/scolopendra so we chose to use the outdoor shower instead. The next door neighbors partied every night at the Plantation until after midnight each night.. the sounds of bass bumping each night vs the sounds of ocean waves breaking as we hoped. I could have called to complain during our trip but we were doing our best to avoid confrontation and put out that energy. Upon our return, I followed up via phone and email to Na Pali Properties to discuss our trip and to give some advice for this unit and never heard back. I also discovered after we returned that there was an optional trip cancellation fee that we paid and we certainly would not have paid this fee had I realized it. One last thing - there is no immediate beach access from this unit. You have to walk 5 mins down the road to the park to enter the beach. We ended up still driving there because of beach chairs, cooler, etc. Overall it was fine. Was it worth the money - absolutely not.
