Avgonima Chios Spitakia Cottages

The place is located in a beautiful 1000 year old little village made up of traditional stone houses. Both the village itself and the character of the house we stayed in were truly impressive. We watched some incredible sunsets, and the view from the rooftop of our house was absolutely beautiful. Everything in the village is within easy walking distance: viewpoints, restaurants, and lovely little spots to explore. Amazing unspoiled coves nearby, easily accessable by car. George was also a wonderful and very welcoming host. It’s a peaceful place away from the tourist crowds, perfect if you’re looking to slow down and enjoy the surroundings. We had such a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

For us, this was more of a plus than a downside, but the stone house we stayed in is almost cave-like, and the bedroom gets very little natural light. When you wake up, you can barely tell whether it’s a sunny day outside, almost like having a natural blackout curtain. We actually loved it because it gave us incredibly peaceful, long sleeps, but it might be a downside for anyone who feels uncomfortable in darker spaces. + you need a car
