The Alexander Wilson House at 178 Unit A Saint Philip St. is a 2-bed 2-bath gem blending modern comfort with Charleston’s rich history just one block from King St. Recognized with 5 Carolopolis Awards and the SC Governor’s Award for Historic Restoration, this retreat offers a perfect location for families or groups seeking an authentic Charleston experience.

Bedroom 1:  Two queen beds, large ensuite bath, wainscoting with intricate carvings, beautiful ceiling plasterwork.
Bedroom 2: Queen size bed with private bathroom, natural light, delightful art.

Bathroom 1: Marble and tile bath, deluxe shower head, separate handheld shower, glass shower door.
Bathroom 2: Private bath with tub/shower combination, rain shower head, large floating vanity.

Kitchen: Fully stocked, combination Keurig drip / pod combination coffee maker, all the small electronic gadgets.

Living Area: Bright with lots of natural light, comfortable sofa, and opens to the kitchen.

This is not a typical short-term rental; it is not a renovated dependency or a newly constructed unit in an old neighborhood, nor is it situated on a tiny lot in a questionable or remote area. The old hardwood floors, tall ceilings, original moldings, plasterwork, windows, and doors exude a special warmth, character, and charm that is very difficult to achieve in new construction. The exterior copper roof and guttering provide additional warmth and character. It`s the real deal!

*If needing early check-in or late check-out please DO NOT ask until the day before check-in at earliest due possible last minute rentals. If you absolutely NEED it, I would suggest renting the night prior*

- Guests must follow trash disposal instructions provided by the host.
- Please return all items and furniture to their original locations.

We recently stayed at this property and absolutely loved it! It was spacious, very clean, and was in an amazing location with very close proximity to downtown. We all said we would definitely stay here again!

I slept in the bedroom closest to the road and the traffic noise was extremely loud. People in the adjoining home were out on their patio until 3am talking and laughing. The neighborhood in general usually quieted down between 3 and 4 and then I was able to sleep. The home itself was perfect and the proximity to King Street was great but it was the wrong neighborhood for an older person like myself.
