Splendid!

The Host. He was waiting for us, even though this was not needed. He was very helpful in explaining how to us the facilities such as the sauna, the woodstove, etc. He gave tips for hiking. A friendly man who knows how to make you feel welcome! There is lots of wood available to enjoy the fire place. You can start hiking from the house into Koli national parc. The view from the house was splendid. The house is complete with washing and drying machine, oven, microwave, good beds, kitchen equipment.

A perfect haven in the midst of nature

I am rarely as happy about a place as I was with the Kolin Lotus Cottages. The cottage which was attributed to us is right in front of a lake surrounded by trees. The furnishings were perfectly kept and well chosen. The cottage offers everything you need including a working chimney and a sauna. Everything works and when called about a detail a very kind gentleman came to help literally within seconds. The absolute peace and quiet of the place is astounding.

Although this appears to be a rather constant feature in Scandinavia we do not get used to it: the beds were too soft and we did not sleep that well. I am sure this will be arranged for the next season.

The place was spotless and very clean, everything worked perfectly, and the staff were the best I’ve seen in a long time.

There was no AC, but that’s not an issue 99% of the time in Finland.

Very pleasant short stay.

Totally it was a very positive stay. We arrived late and left early, so we did not have so much time to get impressions.

The floor in living areas was cold. Slippers would have been good to have.

Great location at the shore of Pielinen. Place is pet friendly (extra fee) with peace and quiet around even though cottages are close to each other and semi-detached. Short distance to the Koli hiking trails and Koli village for grocery shopping. Should you need cash though, the nearest ATM/cash machine is at the next village (Juuka), so stack up with cash for example for the pet fee in advance. Cottages are relatively new and tidy. They are equipped with a Sauna, washing machine and dryer, which is simply brilliant. Kitchen is well equipped along with a dishwasher. In the living room there is a fireplace and plenty of firewood available. Nice TV-set should you need one... I recommend this accommodation for families, singles, couples and pets.

all if fine in general, a nice Cottage village next to Koli downhills and port

only after arrival we found out that cottages are pets-friendly, which is okay if the cleaning is Ok, which wasnt 100% the case as we found some signs of a dog presence with previous guests also, to be honest, we havent found a screw opener, what was a bit disappointing :)

Great!

It's location, very quiet and easy to access to Koli National Park. It takes 5 mins to the nearest supermarket (Sale) by car. The drying machine helps us to save our clothes.

Can't open the dishwater machine when I use a sink space. It's not easy to find a right box for the separation of garbage, please put/write a sign or text on its top. Undissolved soap powder was seen in a softer container of the washing machine, maybe previous guests didn't understand which containers they should put was a detergent.

Very clean and good facilities, close to Koli’s trails

Cleanliness, sauna, bed, kitchen facilities etc, all good. Wifi worked excellent as well, we both worked the whole week with our laptops.

There were mice on the roof, they woke us up a lot at nights.
