Lovely cottage , well situated for location of the village been literally central. The cottage was perfect for our stay well equipped and comfortable. The host was very helpful . Will definitely go back when visiting clitheroe . Nice treats also when we arrived . Thank you ☺️

Coming over for 35 years. My "always" B&B was sold. Needed a new place to stay. This is it. Perfect

No breakfast as it wasn’t included in the stay. Had to buy my own which was fine. Booth’s supermarket is down the street and they always have a great Cumberland Sausage/Bacon sandwich w/ Brown Sauce.

It’s not that “I didn’t like it”, but had to buy shampoo and soap for the shower. Can’t remember if included with the stay. If it wasn’t - no big deal. Worth going to Booth’s to grab a few things + their breakfast sandwiches.

Pillows a little worn, mattress could do with replacing. Personally I prefer cotton bedding it's more comfortable to sleep in , but not a complaint just my view

A convenient location, close to the Castle, and with a parking space. It was clean, well-equipped, and warm. It was an easy walking distance to the main shops in the town.

A radio in the kitchen would have been useful.

Charming and most special stay in Clitheroe at 1 The Stables Cottage.

We had such a special bank holiday weekend at 1 The Stables. The cottage was lovely, cosy and a perfect base to relax. It is so central to the wonderful shops, market place and community of Clitheroe. Our host was most helpful prior to arrival with enquiries regarding our stay and we loved our welcome hospitality package of tea, coffee, milk, orange juice, Prosecco and even hot cross buns! Really liked that the property had parking too. We certainly hope to return.

Central location for visiting Lancashire and walking

Warm and comfortable and well furnished. All facilities are within walking distance - shops and pubs and eateries. Market place behind house, view of top of Castle keep and the castle grounds is open until late. Good walking nearby and lovely countryside

Nowhere to dry clothes after a wet walk.If you came in good weather there wouldn't be somewhere pleasant to sit immediately outside as the front of the house is parking for residents.

amazing, we were really looked after. the owner had put up a Christmas Tree and decorations for our Xmas holiday. some lovely treats in the fridge and sweet treats, bedding and towels etc. we have stayed in many places but this place was above our expectations.

Welcoming, cosy and very accommodating, highly recommend!

Very cute cottage, excellent location for anything you’d want to get to in Clitheroe, lovely and thoughtful host who made sure I had everything I needed for a great stay. Shame I was travelling for work so I’d love to go back again for holiday and would certainly stay here. Bonus was the Christmas tree set up to make it feel extra cosy that time of year. Overall just fabulous!

A cosy haven in a charming town.

Close to the market, the cottage was convenient to the town centre and sites such as the castle. Claire, the owner left an excellent welcome pack of beverages, refreshments etc. and fresh flowers on the kitchen table. The skylights illuminating the stairs and the bathroom gave an airy feel to the property.

We were pleased with everything. Hosts have tried to provide all that you need apart from personal items.
