Very spacious, great entertaining rooms and very well stocked kitchen to cater for large groups
2 beds in the top room broke on arrival but we didn’t need them so wasn’t a problem. Some of the rooms could have been a little cleaner but overall good.

The location was perfect for going on different hiking explorations (as long as you have a car). There is also many shops in the area such as Aldi being only a short drive away, as well as the town of Chapel being close by which had a few pubs and restaurants. The house it's self was charming with a lot of character and a lovely garden area. The facilities were more than adequate for a large group with a top end kitchen. Plenty of bedrooms and space made it a comfortable stay.
Communication from the agents / Owner at the start was not great, it took us an hour after arrival to work out the key box combination. The solution was found only through calling the agents number as provided via email. the code was not sent in advance as advised. Unfortunately the hot tub was not working which was a let down. There's an array of creepy portrait paintings around the house that were quite unsettling. Possibly it is down to taste but they were horrible to look at.

It was quiet, large, with lots of space for everyone. The upstairs attic was extremely warm. I must admit we visited during the recent heatwave and expect that this is very unusual for this part of the world so understand that there is no air-conditioning or fans
Stayed at Queen Ann's Close for a week with 4 work colleagues attending the nearby Hillhead Quarry exhibition. On the 3rd day and once the house was occupied by 5 people, using the shower regularly after attending a hot and dusty Hillhead show at a quarry, hot water became an issue. After reporting the issue early in the day, and returning in the evening and still no hot water, and after trying hard to contact the host/owner many times including via booking.com, it became apparent that there was an issue with the owners "hive account" This was resolved late that evening and we got hot water. Then the next day again, there was no hot water and again after trying to contact the host for much of the day, it was established that the boiler was only switched on from 6am to 9.30am. So showering before 6, which we did as we were in attendance at the show early morning ensured there was no hot water. Then showering on our return from the show at around 7pm there was minimal hot water in the boiler and ran out quickly. The host advised he would set the boiler up to run at all times. Then returning on the Wednesday, again we had no water and well as electricity. Tried to contact the host who did not respond and eventually checked with the neighbour who advised that there was a power outage in the area and was a common issue. It would have been nice to have been advised of this or provided with some notice that this is a regular occurrence. The power returned at about 7 pm and we were able to then get running hot water. Running the boiler for 2 hours a day is not acceptable for a property of this price and that hosts so many people but more importantly, a host that does not respond to a query sent at 11:15am until 21:23. On the Thursday, there was no internet, despite the wifi working. Didnt bother to report is as I expected not to hear from the host and had data on our phones.
