Hotel was very vibey! There’s also happy hour where you can try wine and sake from the area. We also had breakfast and it was a homely Japanese meal which was a nice start to the day

Quite expensive as we stayed for 4 days which would cost us nearly 1,000 SGD, location quite inconvenient when checking in and out as there is a hill you need to walk from the nearest train station. Other than that, staffs were very friendly and helpful, hotel lobby provided free snacks and beverages everyday and they even delivered snacks into our room too. We booked a traditional japanese breakfast and had a wonderful time engaging talks with the kitchen staff.

スタッフさんは皆様優しく、穏やかな方で、付近にある飲食店なども詳しく教えてくださり、滋賀のローカルな雰囲気も楽しむことができました。
お部屋も最高で、家具も照明も寝具もバランスが完璧でした。
お風呂も何時間でも入ってられる程リラックスできる空間で、家族全員が大満足でした。
朝食も本当に美味しくて、普段はご飯のおかわりなんてしないのですが、あまりにもツヤツヤホカホカのお米が美味しくて2杯食べました。
1日では物足りない素晴らしいお宿でした。

Staying in Hotel Koo was one of the best decisions I’ve made on my trip to the heartwarming city of Otsu. The hotel provides very interesting tours to the shopping street nearby and the Machiya (a kind of unique shop and resident hybrid house in Otsu), which really helped me to understand and to connect with the city and the locals. The breakfast provided in the hotel was also made with local ingredients. Nothing tastes better than fresh food sources directly from the area. The design of the hotel was stunning as well, and it felt like a home away from home. To those who wish to enjoy Otsu like a local, I would strongly recommend Hotel Koo.
