We had a wonderful stay at the cottage! Martin and Becky were welcoming and helpful. The cottage was so peaceful and the perfect space for really feeling like we were at a home away from home. We had slow morning with coffee on the deck overlooking the water most mornings and spent multiple evenings playing games out on the deck, as well. The house is perfectly situated for accessing Boothbay Harbor and exploring the Midcoast.

1. The host was great. So friendly and helpful. 2. The house is adorable. Super cute and rustic and right on the water. There is a firepit out back that we used to roast hotdogs and snores with our kids one night. Which they loved. 3. Check-in was super easy and the location was great. Very close to all the stuff we wanted to do but also not in the hustle and bustle of downtown and it had an ocean view so that’s a plus. However there are a few notable problems. 1. The water is yellow and full of iron/minerals. I tasted terrible and honestly I was pretty scared to drink it. So bring your own drinking water. 2. The door to the bedroom is not a real door. More like a changing room door. Full of holes and doesn’t offer great privacy. 3. Everything was slightly rundown and dirty. It defiantly could have used a more thorough cleaning. There were crumbs all over the sheets for the pull out bed. There were mouse droppings in one of the kitchen drawers. There were ants. Some areas of the house were dusty and there were a couple of soft spots in the floor. Also there’s a lot of junk on all over the sides of the driveway. But with all that I would still say the overall feel was charming. I would recommend this place. It was cute and well priced. I would bring your own water. And hopefully it gets a better cleaning before you show up than it got for us.
