About this house rental
RENOVATED Charm: 1920's cottage with 3 acres of natural surroundings. A short, 5 minute walk via nature trail and stairs to dock on Lake Garfield with Adirondack chairs, 2 kayaks and a large canoe. 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms provides plenty of space for your family enjoyment. At home enjoy the large, bright family room equipped with a flat screen TV with Satellite service, high speed internet & DVD player. In addition, there is a large living room and dining room area with a charming old stone fireplace.
The screened in porch is another great spot to relax...featuring a table for 6 and a seating area to enjoy the (winter) views of the lake, yard & perennial garden. The kitchen has a large eating island area brightly lit with skylights and stool seating for 5. The kitchen is equipped for every cooks needs...and plenty of cutlery & plates to feed a crowd! The large master bedroom is downstairs with four additional bedrooms upstairs.
It's Always quiet and serene on Lake Garfield. The lake is over 300 acres but seems uninhabited! Everyone has loved our house...and our great town. We hope you will enjoy it as well!

This place was lovely- the pictures don’t do it justice from the uniqueness of the house and the beauty of the dock and lake (especially when the sun starts going down). Two families stayed to utilize as a meeting spot while visiting 6 flags and mount greylock. Would highly recommend

This was a perfect home for two families, comfortable and plenty of space. The lower family room was everyone's favorite hang-out space and the screened in porch was perfect for coffee in the morning. The walk to and from the lake wasn't bad at all. (The less active of us maybe had to stop to catch our breath a couple times on the way back up, but that would have been the case whether it were stairs, rocks, or dirt.) We spent most of our time on the dock or in the water, perfect for a family reunion with a variety of ages.Mary Beth and James were very quick to respond to questions and one house need we had. If we ever are in this area again, we would love to stay in their lovely home.

The property is located very close to Great Barrington and Butternut Ski Area. We had planned to ski for a day and this place was perfect for our group. The house had an antique feel but it was equipped with modern equipments and furniture for comfort. Mary responded prompty and was very helpful with the check-in/out and house instructions. Would definitely recommend staying at her place.
