Casa del Capitán

The overall size and layout of the villa was fantastic. Great availability of facilities available and all good size rooms, both bedrooms and utility rooms. As a group of climbers and cyclists it was a good functional space to use to see the island and we had a lovely stay. Good number or bathrooms for size of villa. Good amount of storage. It was very clean on arrival. Good parking. Location was nice to be by the sea but being near main roads gave great, fast access to the whole island. The person I spoke to was very helpful and nice to talk to when we interacted.

Firstly I'd like to start by saying we had a lovely stay and the following is just meant as useful feedback. I think the villa could easily be made a much nicer stay, to give better return. As it is, it was nice and functional but could easily be made quite special. It felt tired and unloved and if it felt cared for it would go from not meeting expectations to exceeding them. A big part would just be a declutter by having a thorough clear out. Sharp broken tile on steps up to pool amongst others. Tiles were death trap slippery in rain or with wet feet from pool. A polite friendly caution sign would be a minimum improvement, if not a re-tile with modern textured non slip tiles. Family bathroom and basement bathroom very tired. Family bathroom needs modernising to maximise potential, basement room needs an extractor fan and new adjustable height shower head holder which fits shower head for a comfortable shower. Also the curtain is too long and as such it gets sucked into you whilst showering. Basement flat (I checked to see of this room was available as it wasn't in the advert, but the person I spoke to via Bookings.com chat said yes) was damp smelling and the air fresheners too strong and pungent so we had the windows open alot. Due to time of year, it was chilly and although the heating was good. Some extra blankets and duvets wouldn't go a miss. Also some straps to hold the twin bed legs together if desired would be a good option, stop them spreading. Clutter in cupboards and draws, including pile of dirty table cloths and fabric table mats in dresser. Bit gross to find. Decor is tired and could do with freshening up. A defunct pinball machine with a junk room behind it, could be removed to give access to a very useful closet. Kitchen needs a plate drying rack, provision of disc cloths or sponges, more than 1 tea/drying up towel, oven trays to cook on. Pool was cold so dips we're brief to say the least.
