🌅 Villa Avouri Kalathos – Peace, Views & Private Pool near Lindos

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at this lovely villa and we absoutely loved both the villa and location, as a family we do not like busy or built up areas so this location was perfect, it was so peaceful, truly a lovely place to relax!Jenny as a host was amazing, lots of information provided and very easy to contact. Her list of restaurants and things to do was a great touch. We slowly worked our way through the restaurant list and they did not disappoint! Our favourite being Konstantin which is the only restaurant we revisited and was only a 5 min drive away.We enjoyed visiting the island and we would love to return one day.

As a family with two older children the Villa was ideal for us. It has a very nice pool area overlooking the sea allowing plenty of sunbathing and cooling off as required.Inside, the villa is very well equipped with contemporary decoration and furnishings. The living area is all open plan so while cooking the family conversation etc. all continued.The two bedrooms are a good size and were beautifully laid up with sheets and towels provided. The shutters and air conditioning meant you got a good night sleep without being woken up by the dawn - however the dawn is worth seeing from the upstairs windows/balconies.A car is definitely needed as there is quite a hill to climb - it is perhaps about one mile down to the road and all the shops. At the bottom of the hill there are a few bars/restaurants and a bakery. We got to know Despina and Nikos pretty well in "On the Road" - definitely worth popping in for a drink and meal. A further two minutes drive towards Lindos is the bigger supermarket in the area - not huge, but covers all bases.Location wise, we found the beachs at Lindos, St Paul's Bay, Charaki, and Agathi suited us best. The beachs of Kalathos and Vlycha were a bit long and open for us, however they are a great place to swim and take a sunbed. We didn't pay for parking anywhere all week, and didn't have any issues finding somewhere to park.We loved Charaki as a beachside town and went to have our last meal before departure at Kostas and Elena's - to be recommended. It has a lovely bay lined with cafes, sun beds and boats. There is no shortage of somewhere to have a drink and meal of all styles within five to ten minutes drive of the villa.Lindos wasn't known to us before we travelled. It really is a top place and worth spending some time in. Apart from being wheelchair bound or with a pram, there is no reason not to go up to the Acropolis - it is not that far up, and if you can't walk or prefer the novelty, there is a fleet of donkeys ready to carry you up to the entrance.In summary, Jenny and her people on the ground will look after you. Ask Jenny any questions before and during travel and she will get back to you. There is a whole group of villas around Villa Avouri - all cleverly laid out so not to be overlooked. We would recommend Villa Avouri for both a good family holiday or for a couple wanting to relax or explore the area for a while.Thanks Jenny, and thanks for the thoughtful welcome pack.
