Set back on a private drive, you are within 500 feet of Sunken Lake from the Thunder Bay River. Open upstairs loft with 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds. Basement bedroom with bunk beds added in 2018. Small campfire pit to keep you warm on cool summer nights. Perfect getaway for couples and small families to enjoy the peace and quiet of Northern Michigan. Two Kayaks are available for your enjoyment. If you want to bring your small boat for fishing on Sunken Lake, there is a boat ramp near entrance of private drive.

Awesome Cabin, amazing location, perfect fishing trip! Overall exceeded expectations!Spacious outdoors environment and access to Thunder Bay River was very scenic. Sunken Lake is plentiful with all kinds of fish.: smallmouth, largemouth, pike, perch, and pan fish. Very thankful for this opportunity.

I booked this rental to have a getaway with a friend during the pandemic, and we absolutely loved it!The property is nestled in a beautiful little lake/river front neighborhood that is mostly surrounded by other vacation or weekend properties. We went during the week, so we saw very few other cars or people, and it was perfectly quiet the whole trip.The kayaks were an amazing perk, and we loved exploring the little river and paddling over to the lake! Be aware that there isn't a formal dock to get into the kayaks, and there are many shallow areas in the river (at least during the times we went) so you may want water shoes or sandals, because you'll be sticking your feet in the water and mud a few times to get in and out. But the river is incredibly calm and shallow, so it would be safe for even people with limited experience. It's only a short distance to the lake, and once out there it was calm, and we really enjoyed exploring the walking bridge and nature surrounding the lake.The property was very clean = we were actually pleasantly surprised by HOW clean it was, for being a wooded area. Everything was spotless, gleaming, and smelled of gentle disinfectant. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and enjoy, including pots, pans, cookie sheets, utensils, and more. The coffee pot was easy to use, and the fridge was full sized. The stove is a little on the small size, but it didn't bother us since there were still 4 burners and an oven, but if you cook a lot you may find it a bit small - thankfully there is an outdoor grill you could use!We really just can't say enough great things about this property, and the surrounding woods and trails. We will definitely return again someday!
