Our trip: We were a group of adults visiting some local friends. We spent most of our time outdoors then cooked meals and relaxed at the house. This house is in an ideal location. Walkable to the river and food and shopping in Kernville. Very friendly host who checked in before we arrived to make sure we had all the information we needed.The house feels comfortable and lived in. Perfect for a place to crash and recharge after enjoying some outdoor activities. Plenty of room for a family or a small group to enjoy time together without being on top of one another. The front bedroom gets very bright when the sun comes up, so put your early risers in there. If you plan to cook you may want to bring some of your own supplies. The kitchen is not all that well stocked. We brought our own knives and cast iron pan and had to buy a few other things locally. The swamp cooler works very well to keep the space cool. The one downside? The windows have to stay open for it to work well and sometimes the neighbors have a loud dog 5 feet from the house. Otherwise, the neighborhood is peaceful.

We had a good stay at this little place. Its fairly older and decorated as youd expect for a rural little house, but i is quite charming. Family had a great time for the fourth of july and a quite place to hang out afterwards.

Overall not too bad for money spent. Good location and access. No TVs in any bedrooms. Limited cooking utensils or supplies in cabinets. Owner wanted dishes washed but no dishwasher or even dish drainer. Doors sticking in door frames. Needs screen door on back door since door sticks in frame and tough to open/close. No wood for fireplace. Okay for a bunch of guys to kick back it was adequate but not for a family to prepare meals or spend any extended amount of time. Owner needs to step up and furnish/supply property.
