I enjoyed talking with the padrona and her significant other. I was sorry that I wasn' t able to thank her personally.
Maybe she was at church. It was a good thing that I installed a SIM card in my tablet earlier in the trip. I had trouble finding the place and had been driving for 9 hours. I even asked directions several times. Finally, I called the listed
phone number and she described where it was. After that, no problem. It's a 3 block walk to a good pizzeria, and there's a great little wine shop called IL Salotto di Rachele on Via F. D. Guerrazzi 14.
I went there to visit several museums. The first day, both museums were closed until 4 pm, even though their
website said differently. I went to Piombino instead to an archaeology museum. Had I known the situation ahead of
time, I would have bypassed Cecina.
