Villa Dirui

Die Lage der Unterkunft, war schon sehr perfekt man hat seine Ruhe und der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Er hat sich über alles gekümmert. Wenn wir ein Taxi brauchten, mussten wir ihn nur kurz Bescheid sagen. Er hat 1 besorgt.

Dass die Kamera den Pool mit filmt aber an sich war das ja auch nicht schlimm ist, dient zur eigenen Sicherheit, da die Gegend ja nicht ungefährlich ist

We stayed at the villa for 14 days in June–July 2026 with my wife and two children. The villa had absolutely everything we needed for a comfortable stay, especially if you plan to explore the island of Crete by car. The location is a little remote from the main tourist infrastructure, but the sea is still easily accessible, with the beach only about a 15-minute walk away. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. We arrived on our first day after 22:00, and he was there waiting for us to hand over the keys and show us around. What impressed us even more was that, since we arrived late and were unable to find a place to eat, he had prepared traditional Greek food for us, including salad and spinach pie. There were also some drinks and snacks waiting for us, which was a very thoughtful and touching gesture. During our stay, whenever he came by to bring fresh towels and other necessities, he also brought fruits, and on one occasion even fresh farm eggs. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. The owner was wonderful, and we truly had nothing to complain about. When we were leaving, he asked whether there was anything that could be improved. There were only a few minor things we mentioned, and I am sure he will take care of them. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone planning to stay in Crete and explore the island rather than remain in one location. In that case, however, having a car is essential.

Literally nothing was wrong, nothing to complain.

Villa was perfect for our needs . It isn’t a luxury villa but has Lovely balcony with sea views and also a patio seating area . Well equipped kitchen and a fridge full of goodies, which was a lovely touch. Our host was very helpful and even dropped bags of fruit to us, He was Easy to get hold of if we needed anything. The villa even has a washing machine which was brilliant for us. Towels and spare bed linen provided and extra blankets if got chilly ( which it never did ) we had the best weather and normally get bitten by insects but there was hardly any. The walk to the beach was my favourite with 2 beaches that are just beautiful, the sunsets are amazing. You do need a car only because their are no buses to supermarkets There is one shop which is on the beach this sells small snacks and drinks plus bikinis , and just about every item u might need. But not food for meals Restaurants are very friendly, food is good and reasonable prices Free sun loungers on beach to use - Sandy beach so that was fab And cats , lots of friendly cats but it is Crete This is our 2nd time this year and I can’t wait to return

More sleeping pillows would of been nice to have .

The view from the balcony was beautiful. Having the washing machine in the flat was very convenient. The host was very friendly and had left us some items in the fridge. Location was good, away from tourist complex and on a dirt road. Being able to park off the road was good.

The listing states you are getting the entire villa but it is only an apartment in a small block. The apartment is tired and needs a lot of maintenence and updating to be good. It gets very hot, at night you cannot open the doors or windows as there are no fly screens. There is only a weak fan which was very noisy. The listing states there is a TV in the apartment but there was not. The wall holder for the shower head was broken so you cannot have a comfortable shower. Several of the ceiling lights were hanging off with exposed wiring.
