To the north-west of Thisted lies Lake Nors, which is a popular swimming destination with its clear, clean water. It is part of the Hanstholm Wildlife Reserve, which is known for its impressive bird life. Water sports enthusiasts can also let off steam on the Cold Hawaii coast, the coastline between Agger and Hanstholm, which is world-famous among surfers.
