Gite "La Maison Jaune" à Kaysersberg avec garage

Logement spacieux et bien équipé, joliment décoré avec même un beau sapin de Noël. Superbe localisation pour visiter Colmar et la région. Échanges fluides et simples avec Jean. C'était parfait.

Appartamento molto accogliente e carino, dotato di tutti i comfort in una tipica casa alsaziana. Jean l Host è molto gentile e pienamente disponibile. Ottima posizione dell'alloggio a Kaysersberg, borgo stupendo e autentico, comodissimo per visitare i mercatini di Natale dei borghi vicini.

Ritiro chiavi presso altro indirizzo un po' scomodo. Ci siamo trovati benissimo, il proprietario ci ha fatto trovare nell'appartamento sia la culla per mio figlio che un seggiolone. Gli unici consigli che mi sento di dare sono: - dotare la camera da letto di un armadio, la libreria è scomoda per riporre i vestiti; - aggiungere un appendiabiti;

The location was central and the rooms quiet. Bed was comfortable and there was ample space for our stuff. Host left detailed information for almost all contingencies, except for the combination washer-dryer which we don't have in USA. Liked that a parking space was available at a nearby garage.

As an American, I experienced some disappointments and one major concern. I know it is common in other countries to have a toilet in a room that is distinct from the sink. I was not made aware of this at the time of booking or else I probably would have looked elsewhere. One needs to walk through the living room to get from the toilet room to the room with the tub and sink. Also, the tub had no curtains and no provision to take a shower. Just a handheld sprayer down at tub level,. My one major concern is one of safety. Not sure what the fire codes are in France. But in the USA this place would have failed a fire inspection for the following reason. Although it was a pain, we got used to using 3 keys to gain entry to the apartment. One to open the door from the street to the small courtyard entry to the building. A second key to unlock the door to the apartment building. A third key to unlock the apartment. It is emphasized that one must relock each door after you pass through it, for security reasons. If you fail to relock any of the public doors, the neighbor on the top floor will come knocking on your door to tell you so (we forgot one door once.) He will also relock the door on you. This was rather annoying when we were trying to load our baggage into the car which we had moved closer to the building. Upon returning within 3 minutes for the second set of luggage, we found the neighbor had already relocked the doors to on us. Oh, well, not a big deal, just unfriendly. Now imagine there is a fire in the building. You must find the key to unlock the door to the apartment. Then after the spiral stairs, find the next key to unlock the door to the courtyard. Finally, get the 3rd key to open door to street. By then you will probably be dead from smoke inhalation. How can this be legal? What if you have children with you? Other than this, the apartment is fine and comfortable.
