About this house rental

Come to Raystown and enjoy tons of outdoor activities: swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, as well as hiking, biking and bird-watching! In addition to the lake, our rolling countryside includes creeks and the Juniata River offering many options for the nature-lover. A vacation in Raystown will be one to remember for years to come. And you may want to re-visit multiple times during different seasons! Can't take a week off? Visit us for a long weekend or, even better, come during the week for a discounted price! We rent by the night (2 or 3-night minimum), the week, or the month from April 1 thru December 1 (weather permitting). Weekend rates are slightly higher than weekday rates due to demand. We may rent by the month with the rate dependent on the month(s) requested. Polite pets are welcome but there is a small nightly fee.

Relax and unwind, enjoying the natural surroundings inside and outside of this cabin. The cabin address is 5017 Whitehaven Lane, Huntingdon, PA 16652. We are located 7 miles south of Huntingdon. We are 5 miles from Allegrippis Trail for biking enthusiasts and Seven Points Recreation area at Raystown Lake for water sports. The distance to Juniata College is about 8 miles (15 minutes) and Penn State main campus is about 37 miles (45 minutes).

There are convenience stores nearby as well as a full-service Walmart within 10 minutes. You won’t find a lot of nationally-known restaurants other than fast-food in Huntingdon. But we have some wonderful Mom & Pop eateries with yummy food, coffee shops (some with drive-thru), beverage distributors, pubs, and quaint retail shops in our surrounding towns.

The cellular service in the area is pretty reliable with Verizon offering the best signal.

Our setting is a 6.5-acre wooded property and the cabin is semi-private with other cabins about 125 feet away. Guests are expected to stay within the open and wooded areas of their respective cabins. All guests have access to the shared driveway for walks with humans and furbabies. Multiple cabins can be reserved by groups for gatherings and all cabins are listed on this website. Our cabins are completely furnished with most of the comforts of home, much like a small house.

The living room has upholstered furniture and offers a Smart TV, internet/wifi and there is also a DVD player. The kitchen includes a full-size electric range with oven, full-size refrigerator, microwave oven, coffeepot, toaster, cookware, dinnerware, and utensils. The dining area has a table with 8 chairs. 2 bedrooms are on the main floor, one having a king bed and the other having a queen bed. The third bedroom upstairs has 4 single beds. The bathroom on the main floor has a shower with tub, toilet and sink. We provide pillows, blankets and bedspreads. Guests bring their own sheets and towels. We provide toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels and a bath mat.

Outside the cabin you’ll find a covered front porch with a picnic table and stacking chairs. Beside the cabin there is a charcoal grill and campfire ring.
Raystown Lake is a popular waterway in south central Pennsylvania, stretching 29 miles long. The surrounding area is owned in large part by the federal government with several state-owned parks and forests close by. It is a wonderful area to spend a family vacation with popular attractions including caverns, railroading, horse-back riding, lake cruises, boat rentals just to mention a few. For golfers, Huntingdon Country Club offers a public golf course about 4 miles north of us. Volunteers have created the Allegrippis Trail which is popular with biking enthusiasts. There are 3 different trails so that anyone from beginner to expert can enjoy the ride. There’s also a skills park across from the visitors center where you can stop for all sorts of info on the way to Seven Points Marina. Fishing tournaments are frequently held in the area. During your stay, you may be blessed to see a bear swimming across the lake or a bald eagle returning to its nest.

Nice place. Clean, old style authentic cabin in a nice location between Huntingdon and lake Raystown. Great for mountain biking weekend being only 4-5 miles from the main trailhead. Great deck area. Nothing fancy and maybe not beautiful place but just what you need to get away. Host is quick to respond to any text questions.

Just as we expected :) Host checked in and was very pleasant. We had a great long weekend stay. Would stay again in any of the 4 cabins on the property!

Cabin was a really great location for us. Level convenient parking. Lots of cooking space inside and out. Nice fire pit. Full size refrigerator. Kitchen randomly stocked. Could always find a dish, pan or utensil we could use. Only two drawbacks we had were: Stairs do not have a railing at the top. And tub needs a mat. We had 2 elderly single people in our group.
