Awi Guest House

Awi and his wife were most gracious. Awi met me personally at the ferry with his own boat. Awi was very informative and helped me decide which tours i would like take. The room was big and comfortable with all amenities provided.

The shower unfortunately fell from its housing whilst i was showering and left a big lump and bruise on my forehead

Mr Awi is a SUPER nice and accommodating host, he went out of his way waiting for us even we checked in very late due to Airport delays-- despite the long waiting hours, he had a taxi driver picked us up at the airport then he picked us up at the KFC which we hopped into a boat, what a refreshing signt to be in Elephantine Island. We had a great Nubian breakfast, spacious traditional room and a lovely sight because its facing the Nile River. Mr Awi is a great conversationalist and helped me a lot claim back my luggage the following day even carried it to be loaded to the Cruise. He is all around wonderful host, Highly recommended. We couldnt thank you enough Mr Awi. You have a big heart and I wish we should have stayed longer than be at the Cruise - which 3 of my family members had tummy issues but thats another story

What I liked about Awi Guest House was the personal touch and warm hospitality. The owner, Awi, went out of his way to make sure we felt comfortable and welcome—he even came to pick us up by boat, which was such a unique and special touch. Awi is not only friendly but genuinely cares about his guests, always checking in to ensure everything was perfect. The village was beautiful and fun to explore, with friendly locals who made us feel very welcome. Awi’s service was top-notch, and the breakfast he served each morning was delicious and fulfilling. It was a peaceful and relaxing place to stay, and I really enjoyed the overall experience. Awi truly made our stay memorable with his kindness and hospitality. The sunrise and sunset across the Nile River were absolutely stunning, adding a magical touch to the entire experience at Awi Guest House.

What I didn’t like: Honestly, there was nothing to dislike. My stay at Awi Guest House was perfect in every way!

Pretty location, comfy bed, nice size room, nice views.

No stove top, no minibar, no bath, no restaurant, no boat sent and waited for an hour before being told to get on the local ferry which meant dragging our cases through unpaved streets. Only 1 tiny mirror high up in bathroom. Towels were small hand towels.
