The villa and pool were beautiful, clean and without fault, exceeding our expectations.The drive up is not for the faint hearted. A small 4x4 like a Panda would be perfect as the roads are very steep and narrow. In places, the storm drains have collapsed, which add to the fun. If you have children, be aware, there are wasps too, we got stung a few times. That said, we had an amazing holiday at Las Jaras. The villa and the views are fabulous.

This is our second stay at this exceptional property… and we’ll be back again. The villa is stunning, love the new bathrooms. It’s really well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is beautiful and we cooked everyday. I’ve just bought a new washing drainer board as the one in the villa is so good. Lolita is very good in getting back to you, we had a few questions before we arrived. Karin is wonderful and got us a few provisions in before we arrived on the Bank Holiday. The pool is kept at a perfect temperature.. you can just walk in and feel refreshed. I always say, you get what you pay for… at Las Jaras, you get that and more. If this place was ever up for sale we’d buy it if we could afford it. The location is perfect for getting to the beach, the village of Casares or heading off up into the mountains to explore. If I could give this place more than five stars I would. It is perfection and we absolutely love it here. If you love seeing nature, star gazing and peace and quiet, this is definitely the place for you. Lolita you have made a beautiful home, thank you.

A repeat visit for us to this lovely, obviously much-loved and well cared for house. The surrounding nature is amazing with huge flocks of swifts screaming overhead, eagles soaring so close you feel you could reach out and touch them and the birdsong that greets you every morning, along with all the beautiful butterflies, makes this a very special place. As if that were not enough, the spectacular views are to die for. We had a great holiday in this super, well- appointed house with its lovely pool and terraces and we hope to return as soon as we are able.

We only stayed for 5 nights and wish it could have been longer. Las Jaras is a lovely house in a stunning location and was beautifully presented. We especially loved the terraces from which we could watch the wide variety of bird life, particularly the raptors. We hope to return.

This villa has everything from immaculate interior, an impressive kitchen, everything you need for a great stay. The heated pool was perfect… you could just walk right in and feel immediately refreshed. The garden is beautiful with stunning wildlife. The views are breathtaking and so many places to sit and take in the surroundings. The night sky was an emotional experience, one we will cherish. Our stay was SPECTACULAR. Thank you for letting your home out. We have so many ideas for what we are looking for when we move over now. Karin was wonderful and looked after us. I wish we were back there right now. I would recommend this place one million percent. I’d give it more than 5 stars ⭐️

We were searching for a place to go for rest and relaxation for our family after a hectic Holiday week...and we found it. From the first moment, the owners replied back quickly and answered everything that I asked..right up to the last day. Their home is amazing!! It had EVERYTHING that you might need to cook a gourmet meal or just to enjoy a quiet night with a glass of Spanish Wine by the fire. The pool was a hit with our daughter and the beds were comfy and a hit with mama :) I'm so glad that we stayed here....looking back I wish we would have been able to stay there longer...but alas- work calls! Dreaming of our return!!

We stayed at Casa Las Jaras for almost a full week this November and wish we could have stayed longer. The house is large, well-appointed (especially the kitchen!) and feels like a home rather than a sterile rental property. The views from the house are amazing; photos don’t do it justice. Our boys loved the heated pool and we enjoyed sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine watching the sun set over the distant hills. Though you need a car to stay here, the seclusion is part of the appeal for us. We hope to return again someday soon!

This was our 4th stay and we have booked again for next year so that says it all really. The house is well equipped and home from home. Stunning views, lovely garden with several seating areas and a covered terrace, two balconies with table and chairs and a heated pool. We were swimming in October. About 15-20 minutes drive to beautiful beaches. Plenty of excellent restaurants within easy reach.

The villa was lovely and kitchen-wise had all resources that we needed. The garden and views were beautiful. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool, although we had never experienced a heated pool in the summer before (we would've preferred non heated!) We would recommend the villa to friends.

The villa is positioned in the hills with a great view and quiet location with easy access to the coast and resorts. The local village is a few minutes drive away or via a picturesque long walk through the hills, one of many marked out walking routes. The towns on the coast have beaches, supermarkets and street markets. The house is spacious with lots of seating including two indoor and two outdoor eating areas and a large terrace in the shade. The bedrooms are downstairs which means the bedrooms are cooler in the hot weather. The pool is a decent size considering it is a private pool and was nice and warm. The driveway to the villa is steep so I'd recommend an automatic car as this made it a lot easier.

Las Jaras was just what we needed. Beautiful house, heated pool and everything needed to keep our family of five happy. When the sun shone we swam in the pool and went for lovely walks in the hills and pretty Casares. When it rained, we lit the fire and watched movies together. All in all a pretty perfect stay.

Loved our 2 and half weeks here didn't want it to end. The views are amazing from villa,it is well equipped and pool was brilliant and warm . It is just out the way enough to be quiet but not far from casares and San Luis sabinillas. I will definetly return and highly recommend to anyone wanting a quiet and traditional villa. We loved staying at Las Jaras, the house was very comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed spending time by the pool and relaxing in the beautiful garden with its many seating areas. We loved eating dinner (cooked on the excellent BBQ) on the terrace with wonderful views to the coast and to the mountains. Casares was a pretty Andalucian village to explore, we enjoyed having breakfast here of pan tostado con tomates y aceite in the main square. Not only was the villa beautiful, but the organisation was very slick. Lolita was extremely helpful and efficient with the booking process, Karin was very welcoming and helpful when we arrived, and the Spanish housekeeper, Dominga, cooked us a delicious paella one evening which we can highly recommend. The track up to the house is steep but manageable! We would love to come back, we had a wonderful holiday. Thank you to Lolita & Colin.

Las Jaras is a beautiful extremely well equipped villa in a lovely secluded location, but convenient for the town of Casares & the bigger resorts along the Costa. The pool, although on the small side, is perfect for cooling off from the hot Spanish sun and the downstairs bedrooms keep relatively cool despite the heat of the day. The 3 terraces (2 upstairs have superb views) are lovely places to sit and the covered terrace at garden level is an ideal place to take refuge from the sun at the hottest times of the day. The property was cleaned once a week, and the pool cleaned/maintained once a week during our stay. There is so much to do in this part of Spain, but our particular highlights were our visits to Ronda, Gibraltar, the old town areas of Malaga, Marbella and Estepona, and the zoo at Castellar (all within an hours drive or so). There are 2 restaurants within walking distance (provided you are fit enough for the walk back up the hill from the main road) Arroyo Honda and The Forge. We had lovely meals twice in both (Arroyo Honda for lunch and The Forge for dinner), and Athene and the staff at The Forge were really friendly and gave us one or two tips about places to visit. Make sure you book the Arroyo Honda if going for lunch or you may not get a table on the outside terrace. Would strongly recommend this property to friends and if we return to this part of Spain, we would definitely look to book Las Jaras again.

We booked the villa for three weeks to just chill out after a very stressful twelve months. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed this special place,it was just what we needed! The pool is wonderful - heated as well, but the weather was glorious so it was like swimming in the Maldives!! The kitchen had every available appliance, the open plan sitting/dining area was fabulous and the terraces overlooking the coast and Gibraltar were stunning . We were so impressed we are planning to return for a shorter holiday at the end of the summer.

We had a lovely family holiday at Las Jaras. The location is perfect - out of the main coastal strip but close enough to pop to the beach. Beautiful far reaching views from the veranda. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool which was the perfect temperature for cooling off yet, warm enough for them to stay in for much of the day (even in May). Would recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing yet not remote holiday home. Easy distance from Malaga airport. Lolita was very friendly and easy to contact and thanks to Karin for welcoming us on arrival and sharing some tips on things to do and places to eat.

Very comfortable and well equipped Andalusian home with lovely gardens and a private sheltered pool. We just wanted to chill out and sunbathe and it was perfect for this. This place is not for you if you want to walk to a disco, but is perfect if you want peace and quiet and some wonderful walking. We couldn't fault our stay, but might hire a more powerful car next time to get up the hill to the house. Definitely a 5 star holiday and only 15 minutes to beautiful beaches and pretty ports too.

Enjoyed a fantastic week in March at this beautiful, comfortable and fully equipped villa. Great location to reach a lot of Spain's historic cities along with some beautiful beaches and coastline. Local restaurants were good value for money and the food was excellent. My partner and I would fully recommend spending time here, we can't wait to go back.

Three generations from three different countries spent Christmas together. We enjoyed walking to Casares a couple of times and round to see the vultures. The young boys had fun playing in the heated pool and the weather was nice enough for all of us to be tempted in. Those who had not previously visited Gibraltar spent a day exploring the rock. The accommodation was just right with comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen and plenty of space. Father Christmas found us and presents were opened in front of the fire, lit to create a festive scene. Christmas lunch for nine was prepared using the barbeque as well as the oven. Thank you to Lolita and Colin for ensuring the property was ready and communicating well to ensure arrival and departure went smoothly.
