About this villa rental
Delightful detached villa set in the hills above Torrox Pueblo. Fantastic views to the sea and mountains. Set on two levels with private pool, table tennis, air con and 10mg wifi.
It is surrounded by olive trees and the rolling foothills of the Sierra de Tejeda, with spectacular views from the terrace to the South and West of both hills and sea. It is just a short drive (15 minutes) to the 'pueblo blanco' of Torrox, which itself is 2km from the beach and all the facilities of 'La Costa' which is only 10 mins from Nerja and Frigiliana. The villa is split over 2 levels and would suit two small families or a family with older children. The villa is accessed via it's own private gated drive providing room for two cars. The upper part of the villa has one double bedroom with patio doors leading on to a terrace, modern shower room, large lounge inc gas fire, fully equipped kitchen inc. washing machine , air con,10 mg wifi, private pool, 3 surrounding terraces offering stunning panoramic views, hammock, table tennis table and outside barbecue area. The lower part of the villa (connected by an external staircase) offers two double bedrooms one with en suite bathroom with bath and walk in shower, large lounge and dining area with log burning stove, patio doors on to terrace, large fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, 10 mg wifi, air con and shaded terrace. The property is surrounded by gardens and numerous seating/dining areas.
Elegantly furnished rooms complement the modern Spanish villa. The large terraces surrounding the private swimming pool provide ample space for lounging on the hammock, private sun bathing, table tennis with a shaded area for eating or just escaping the heat of the sun and enjoying the wonderful sunsets. The terrace leads up to a landscaped garden and a plot of approximately 1000 m2. It is located in the hills between Torrox and Competa.
Torrox Pueblo only 10 mins by car offers a fantastic square with numerous restaurants, including La Casa, one of the top restaurants in the area.
A place to relax where you are awoken by birdsong or simply by the unusual quiet in the morning!
Moreover the beautiful weather. The Costa del Sol is the coast of the sun, where the sun shines 320 days per year! Torrox advertises the "best climate in Europe '(' mejor clima de europa ') - and rightly so! By the protecting Sierra Tejada Mountains, the temperature rarely rises in summer above 30 degrees, and the winter is very mild.
The popular and vibrant seaside resorts of Nerja, Torrox Costa and Torre del Mar are only 15 mins away by car. All have beautiful beaches, bars, restaurants and nightlife.
Villa Jacaranda is situated in a quiet, idyllic, rural location set on 2000 m2 of its own land with very few nearby properties. It is approached by a typical Spanish hillside country road, winding for 1.5km (approximately 5 mins) from the main road.
The villa, outdoor terraced areas and the pool are cleaned once a week. Bed linen and towels are changed every 7 day by a very reliable housekeeper.
Arrival and departure:
Arrival / departure days Saturday or Sunday. Other days of the week are possible subject to availability.
The journey by car from Malaga airport is simple and well signposted. Follow the coastal highway A7 for about 45km towards Almería / Motril until exit Torrox / Competa. Follow signs for Torrox and then past the BP garage up the winding road towards Competa, winding for approx 5Km. From here follow a country road for approximately 1.5 km to the villa. We will send you detailed directions.
Long term rentals:
We rent in the winter (November to March) for terms of 1-3 months. The opportunity to escape the winter and to spend Christmas with palm trees!

Many Andalucian attractions are accessible by half day or day trip, including;
NERJA a picturesque and popular town by the sea. It is about 15 minutes drive away from your holiday home. Family orientated resort, beautiful beaches and festivals - a lot going on.
Try not miss to the impressive limestone caves at Nerja (Cueva de Nerja). Giant stalactites and stalagmites!
GRANADA can be reached in about 70 minutes on the modern A7 highway.
The World Heritage Site of Alhambra, can be visited in a day and offers palaces, museums, monuments and serenity.
If you still have some time left, we recommend a short trip in the direction of Sierra Nevada, beautiful forest road, magnificent mountains. Great roadside restaurants. In the higher elevations of the Sierra Nevada winter sports can be enjoyed from November to March.
MALAGA - a vibrant city with splendid harbor promenade and beautiful old town. Here especially recommended is the Cathedral, Basilica de la Encarnación, built in the 16th Century.
The Pablo Picasso Museum is housed centrally at the Palacio de Buenavista, which is near to the birthplace of the artist. The museum displays more than 200 works by Picasso, many of his early period as a painter.
The Alcazaba of Málaga is a Moorish fortress from the 11th Century. It is picturesquely laid out above a Roman amphitheater - a sight!
COMPETA - is about 10 km away. A beautiful, authentic village built in the typical Andalusian style. White houses, built close to each other, narrow streets with beautiful colorful flower pots. Here you can visit the beautiful church and then comfortably eat tapas and drink wine at Perico the buzz in the marketplace.
FRIGILIANA is located approximately 13 km away. The white village was repeatedly awarded "Most beautiful village of Andalusia". The village is beautiful following the contour of the slopes.
Shops:
In the nearby coastal villages of Torrox and Nerja there are many large supermarkets.
The shopping center El Ingenio (approx 20 km towards Velez-Malaga) offers a variety of shops. Especially recommended is the supermarket Eroski for its variety of fish.
You can get the best meat for the barbecue at Super Sol in Torrox Costa.
Fresh fruit and vegetables can be found at the weekly market in Torrox Pueblo.
The villa is an ideal 'get away' yet close to the beaches and resorts of Costa Del Sol.

We enjoyed a quiet and lazy time in this villa. Only the gravel road to the house (2km) is quite hard every time but worth to drive. 20..25min to the beach. Supply in the village is easy , 15min to highway or next village

We have had a fabulous stay at Villa Jacaranda
and was sorry to leave it.
The location is very special with views of the mountains and the sea.
Andy’s directions to the villa were excellent we had no problems finding the villa. The villa was spotless and very well equipped with everything you might need.
The gardens are beautiful and the pool was very welcoming on a hot day.
It’s not far to the shops and restaurants and there is a lot to do in the surrounding area if you can drag yourself away from the villa !
We would thoroughly recommend Villa Jacaranda it’s a 10 out of 10 from us!

We spent a week at Villa Jacaranda, myself, husband and my 82 year old mum. We lived in the upstairs villa, and what stunning views there are from the outside space. We never got tired of looking either at the mountains or towards the coast, Torrox - amazing 😊
Villa has two sections, upstairs and downstairs, each separate, with steps up to the top one.
I didn’t realise there was only 1 bedroom upstairs so we also used the sofa bed, which was comfortable. We didn’t want my mum to be isolated downstairs and without an internal staircase, this was the best option for us, and it worked well.
The upstairs was modern, clean, well equipped, with easy access to the vast outdoor space. Lots of areas for shade. Nice cushions for the lounges and outdoor chairs. Pool isn’t huge but nice. Graduated steps which are a good feature. Frank, the housekeeper, came to clean the pool while we were there. Very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately we were unable to use the BBQ, signs say from 1st Apr until 30 Sept, due to fire risks, which we fully understand, however we have stayed in other villas in the area with a gas bbq, and wonder if this is something that could be added maybe, so that the use of a BBQ could be for all seasons, especially as the villa is advertised as having a BBQ.
Very good communication from Carol during the booking process, from Andy prior to our holiday, and during the stay. Lovely holiday at Villa Jacaranda, thank you. 😊

The villa is very quiet, tranquil, views are beautiful, however the last part of the track up to the property is a challenge, my wife and my friends were anxious each time we went out and returned, there are large wheelie type bins at the very beginning of the track up to the property and sadly there was rubbish everywhere, there was a filthy mattress among other large items thrown everywhere including up the first part of the track for about 50 metres, this was very unsightly and not what you want to see. Unfortunately when we arrived the pool had algae in it and the pump was not working causing the pool to be cloudy, the property manager Frank came immediately to sort the problem, this took until the second day, but the pool clouded again, Frank worked on the pool tirelessly and managed to fix the issues, I can honestly say that Frank was a complete pleasure to know and did everything with friendliness and always a smile, he was always at the end of the phone and gave us great advice on where to go to eat, he definitely made the difference to our experience. The villa had just about everything that is needed, but I think it’s fair to say it needs updating, but that’s just my opinion, overall we enjoyed ourselves.
