About this house rental
Luxury 5 bedroom/5 bathroom villa with swimming pool. Secluded, but only 5 minutes drive from Kastelli town. The villa is set on a hillside with sea views and is a very short drive away to the local beaches, bank, supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies and clinics. Falasarna beach is 12 minutes away and is rated in the top ten beaches of Europe. Western Crete has recently become a popular destination for surfing in Crete. There are many restaurants and bars along the promenade in the local seafront and many of the highlights of Western Crete are easily accessible. The city of Chania is a 50 minute drive away, where there is Venetian harbour, a lively restaurant scene and charming cobbled streets full of very individual shops. Western Crete is much less 'touristy' than other areas of the island and is very popular with botanists, walkers and those seeking a more authentic feel of Greece and a relaxed atmosphere.
The villa has all modern amenities and extensive outside living. Like all Greek houses the inside space may be considered bijoux, but the terrace, the pool house and shaded terrace underneath ensure there is always private space for an afternoon snooze and privacy. The villa was built in 2005 so is relatively new. All rooms are air conditioned if needed. There is also unlimited internet
The villa is set in an olive grove containing 30 olive trees and various Mediterranean plants and herbs. The garden is steep and due to the nature of the surrounding landscape I'm afraid the house is unsuitable for wheelchairs and very young children.
Access on the ground floor leads straight in to an open plan lounge, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. There is a shower room/ cloakroom off the lounge. Furnishing is modern with a 'beachy' feel and in blues and whites. This room in turn leads to the extensive terrace with sitting area, Bbq electric or gas, charcoal and dining for 10. This terrace overlooks the 9x5 m pool and pool house with shaded seating and fireplace.
The top floor houses the master bedroom, views to sea with terrace and en suite shower room. Bedroom 2 ( double) again, views to sea with terrace, family bathroom with shower and bed 3 , double with double aspect views of mountains.
The lower ground floor houses 1 large double, ensuite with bath.French doors to shaded terrace, and twin room again with French doors to underneath terrace. Lower ground also contains laundry area with washing machine, fridge, and tea coffee facilities.. Terrace leads on to rose garden and views to olive grove and sea. The villa sits in a 4000m2 of its own land and is totally private.

Having spent a number of holidays in other parts of Crete we were keen to visit the Kissamos area and the beaches of the west coast. The beaches were incredible and the villa was the perfect location for exploring the region. The villa itself felt like home from home. Very clean, high spec and very well equipped. Donna and Kyriakos could not have been more helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay - we can’t wait to come back.

La maison correspond bien à la description.Elle est agréable avec une belle terrasse et une belle piscine. Il est cependant à noter que 3 des chambres sont dans un appartement indépendant en dessous de la maison principale et à côté de la réserve de fioul donc ça sent (surtout au début, l'odeur était plutôt forte avant que l'on aère bien). Donna (notre hôte) a toujours été très réactive ainsi que Kyriakos qui s'occupe de la location sur place.

We were 10 friends in Donna’s villa. We spent a lovely time in the Villa and in Crete. Donna is extremely helpful to give advice and any kind of information. The house is beautiful, even more beautiful than it looks in the pictures! We found everything we needed and spent beautiful evenings on the terrace! I recommend this beautiful house to everyone and I hope to return soon!!

La villa Kaliviani est superbe avec une vue magnifique sur la mer et Kissamos ! Elle est très fonctionnelle , confortable , grande ( nous étions 9) , jolie et bien équipée. La piscine est parfaite : grande avec une pente douce , un très bel espace pour jouer ou se reposer . L endroit est calme et paisible et c est un bon point de départ pour découvrir cette belle région de La Canée : la lagune de Balos , Falassarna, Elafonissi , les gorges de Samaria , Chania , et les villages de montagne ... tout est facilement accessible en voiture. C est la région de la Crete que je préfère par sa beauté ses vues époustouflantes et son côté sauvage . Et La villa Kaliviani au milieu des oliviers nous a permis de pouvoir profiter entièrement de cette belle région!
