Kitolie Home and Lodge

We stayed at Kitolie Home for almost four weeks and had a wonderful experience. We were very well looked after by the manager, Bob, as well as by the rest of the Team and Elizabeth. The rooms are simply furnished, but absolutely sufficient for everything we needed, and most importantly, they were always very clean. The breakfast was fine, especially considering the price. The garden is also beautifully landscaped and maintained every single day, which really impressed us. You can see how much care goes into keeping everything nice. The location in Shanty Town is generally very good. In the evenings, however, the street can feel a little unsafe, so we always took a tuk-tuk. The doorman was always incredibly quick to open the gate for us when we arrived – thank you so much for that! We also booked several trips with Bob, the manager: a safari, a trip to the Materuni Waterfalls, and a visit to a Massai village. Bob was extremely helpful, accommodating and friendly, and we always felt very well taken care of. We can absolutely recommend Kitolie Home to anyone looking for a simple, clean and lovingly managed hotel with a warm and welcoming team. Thank you so much for the wonderful time we spent there!

The best value accommodation in Shanty Town. Overall a comfortable stay with reliable wifi!

The manager off-site didn't seem to always communicate with staff at the lodge that I would be checking in (initially or having been away travelling) so sometimes they weren't expecting me to arrive (and therefore no breakfast)

Absence of personnel

The bedding are old and insufficient for a cold place. The bathrooms need a shower curtain and the shower should have a holder. The TV in the room doesn’t work. Breakfast is very basic. We asked for eggs and were told they got finished 🤔. No cereals or drinking chocolate for kids.
