About this house rental

A beautiful family home by the sea. 200 metres from the mile long sandy beach of Praa Sands. Most rooms have panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Generous open plan living and dining areas with large garden. There is a log fire for cooler days. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare meals with a generous range of condiments and spices. This is a great house for relaxing and spending long days on the deck, lawn or beach.

We welcome children. There is a high chair, cot, a box of children's games and internet TV for rainy days. Child safety gates are at the bottom and top of stairs.

Discounts are possible for couples, please inquire.

Praa Sands is a peaceful seaside village. A beachside family friendly pub called 'The Welloe' is a 5 walk along the beach and there is a beach cafe/shop and lifeguard.

Large supermarkets are a 10 minute drive from the house. They include Sainsburys, Tesco and Morrisons in Penzance and Sainsburys, Tesco and Coop at Helston.

There are many lovely towns nearby. Walk directly around 1.5-2 hours, from the house along the cliffside to the towns of Porthleven (east) and Marazion (west). Or drive to: Penzance (10 mins), Helston (10 mins), Newlyn (20 mins), Mousehole (25 mins), St Ives (25 mins), Falmouth (40 mins), Truro (40 mins).

There are plenty of places to eat. The local pub provides decent food or you can drive to some excellent local restaurants in the area. Eating out is one of the reasons our guests visit and we will send you a list of suggestions that is updated regularly from guest experiences.

We provide a list of things to do. Examples include visits to: Marazion and St Michaels Mount (10 mins); Tremenheere Sculpture Park and Gardens (15 mins); Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden (30 mins); The Lost Gardens of Heligan (1 hour); Eden project (1:10 hour); Tate St Ives (30 min); Minack Theatre (40 min); The Scilly Isles are a day trip away by boat, plane or helicopter.

It is best to travel by car and there is spacious parking for 3 cars at the front of the house. There are some local buses and taxi firms. Details are provided at the house.

Lovely, comfortable home in a beautiful location. Praa sands beach in a 2 minute walk away and is large enough that you can find quiet spot even in high season. Convenient for many other great beaches and locations including the Minnack theatre, St Ives and St Michaels Mount. Check in was easy - the owners were helpful without being intrusive. I think it's true to say that we all fell in love with Rainbow's End. It's an amazing property in a perfect location. So nice to go to sleep listening to the sea and wake to the view of the bay. The fire pit was brilliant - the kids loved toasting marshmallows. And the outside shower was perfect to rinse off salt and sand in lovely warm water! I am sure we will be back!

We had a great time staying at this property in Praa Sands. The location was ideal for us because we wanted to do day trips but avoid some of the crowds of places like St. Ives. The house was ideally set up for our three-generation group. We loved sitting out on the patio watching the ocean in the distance and we really enjoyed the proximity to the beach. The beach is really clean and nice and sandy. The owners were extremely responsive whenever we had questions - fantastic stay!

We loved the location very near the beautiful sandy surfing beach of Praa Sands and also near the local Sandy Stores for daily fresh Cornish pasties and vicky’s fresh bread. Very tastefully furnished relaxing well designed property in an excellent location. Very responsive and helpful hosts. Informative literature and recommendations for local walks and outings. We had a week of rain and mist but that didn’t stop us from walking a lot and swimming (we had our wetsuits for extra insulation thankfully).

We all loved staying at Rainbow’s End in Praa Sands. The view of the sea from most rooms and the large raised garden decking really make the most of the beach location , and it’s only a 2 minute walk from the garden down to the long sandy beach . We were 3 generations staying in the house , and the layout meant it worked very well for everyone’s needs. It’s a well designed , light filled home . The quality and design of the fixtures and furniture , plus the interesting artwork and many books mean it felt very welcoming. We would love to stay again . Geraldine was a great host throughout , her communication was second to none , checking that we had everything we needed once we had arrived .

My family and I (two adults and two children aged 10 and 13) spent a blissful week at Rainbow's End to round off the school holidays. The weather was kind and Praa Sands beach was a revelation - golden sand, crystal clear water, rock pools and surf galore. However, the icing on the cake was staying at Rainbow's End which offers everything you could possibly want in a holiday home - from the expansive decking and garden with uninterrupted sea views, to the generously proportioned bedrooms, luxurious lounge areas and modern kitchen/diner. It's clearly a labour of love for the hosts who were in regular contact throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. Thank you for having us, we'll definitely be back!

Couldn't have been in. a better place to explore South West Cornwall with a house overlooking one of the best beaches in Cornwall. Rainbow's End was perfect for our party of six, with lovely bedrooms, spacious living areas and a wonderful raised balcony overlooking the sea and the large gardens. The hosts couldn't have been more helpful in every way. The sandy beach is absolutely stunning with direct access to the Cornish Coastal Path. Lots to do - Lands End, Penzance just down the coast, St Michaels Mount, Cornish Seal Sanctuary, St Ives, plus lots of nice restaurants, and pubs on the doorstep, including a beach bar where you can sit and chill watching the sea and beach. Wish we had booked an extra week - it was a super holiday!

Geraldine is a great host who was very responsive to all our requests and clear and timely in her communications. The house itself is amazing and very homely. On hot days there is the beautiful garden and nearby beach, and on days where the weather lets you down there is plenty of space to relax and unwind whilst looking out to sea. The location is great - close enough to all major attractions and far enough away from all the madding crowds. It really didn't disappoint in any way. We really hope to return one day if we can.

Rainbows End was the perfect place for a relaxing week by the sea. Beautiful views from the house. The beach is stunning, so so close and very quiet - even though we visited during a very warm and sunny school holiday and know other beaches were packed! Very easy access to the nearby towns and villages along the coast. Geraldine is a fabulous host and replies v.quickly!

We were overjoyed to see this beautiful house on arrival. The veranda and sea views are stunning as is the interior that manages to be both contemporary and homely at the same time. The area (Praa Sands) gave us a quiet large beach at our base camp which allows access to almost anywhere in Cornwall within 30 mins. I also liked the quality sound systems, veranda and warm outdoor shower. It's even better than the pictures convey. It's the perfect place to be for a trip to Cornwall. Oh and the host Geraldine was incredible helpful and communicative too. Anyway enough said.

This is a beautiful and comfortable property, with lovely views from pretty much every window and easy access to the beach as well as to other delightful places in West Cornwall. The property is spacious, easily absorbing a family of two adults and three teens, and offers all amenities for both sunny and rainy days.

Rainbow’s End is a stunning cottage in Praa Sands, which enjoys beautiful sea views from almost every window in the house! Kitchen is really modern and has all the utensils, pots, pans, etc you could ask for. The rest of the cottage is really homely, with comfy sofas, beds and bedding and also beautiful big bi fold doors allowing you to capture the full view! There are plenty of creature comforts such as tv, board games and dvd / PlayStation to enjoy. The outside space (deck and large garden) are superb for outside lunches, dinners or sundowners. The gas bbq is a welcome addition too :-) It’s a 5 minute walk to a mile long stretch of sandy beach, and from the beach (or road) you can walk 300-400m along to the beachside cafe and pub (bit busier but still plenty of space!)

Loved the house, easy walk to fabulous beach. Could do with outside storage for beach equipment etc instead of having to put it all back in the car each time and sandy shoes, especially when it’s raining. No facilities to hang wet coats, wet suits etc. Also needs chest of drawers or some sort of storage in smallest bedroom. We had a very happy time at Rainbows End.

This was the second time we have stayed in this cottage. It is very well looked after and has everything you need - from great kitchen equipment to board games, books and films. Love the location near the beach and easy reach of many of south Cornwalls coves. Would highly recommend for families. I'm sure we will be going back!

Rainbow's End is a special house with sea views from most rooms. It is completely private with no one overlooking the property or garden. It is well equipped and comfortably furnished with plenty of interesting books and dvds as well as a selection of games for rainy days. Located on the south coast, there is easy access by scenic train ride (or car) to St Ives, and by car to Newlyn, Penzance, Marazion, Porthleven, Falmouth etc. There is plenty to see in the area from dolmens and standing stones, the old tin mines, beautiful private and National Trust gardens, a Seal Sanctuary, and wonderful walks. For foodies there are excellent Michelin recommended restaurants in the above mentioned towns. We would love to return to Rainbow's End for another holiday.

We really enjoyed our 10 day stay at Praa Sands and made the most of the house's BBQ, Wetsuits and Body Boards - beach is 2 mins walk. The house was plenty big enough for our family of 5 yet cosy in the evenings. Although we had mixed weather, we managed to fit in; A coastal walk to Porthleven (dinner at Rick Stein's), Cycling around Loe Lake, Godolphin House and Hill, St. Michael's Mount (go early to avoid queues), St. Ives, Minack Theatre as well as various beaches. The highlight for the kids and me was Coasteering from Praa Sands (http://www.kernow-coasteering.co.uk/) - great fun. Although the local pub/bar isn't great - there are lots of old pubs and quality seafood restaurants in the neighbouring villages/towns. We'll be back...

We had a lovely time at Rainbows End. The house is in a perfect location just a short walk to the stunning beach and down a flight of steps. The view from the deck was fantastic. Communication with the owners was very good and they couldn't do enough to help us although there was nothing lacking at the property which was well equipped for self catering and entertainment. We will definitely be returning in the future!
