About this house rental
The villa (entirely in stone) is situated 500 meters on the level of the sea near the summit of the hill of the middle ages Castle (A.D.921) of Campello Alto. The villa is situated on the ancient francigena way that brought since the middle ages the pilgrims from Canterbury (England) to the city of Rome and also crossed by St. Francis of Assisi.
The villa offers the possibility to reside in an uncontaminated place and to enjoy of the beautiful umbrian landscape , of its peace and silence, absorbed among olive trees that give one of the more appreciated oils of the region. In the garden numerous flowers, fig trees, grapevines and other trees are found . There are ample spaces with lawn and terraces with great views. The swimming pool is situated in an extremely panoramic position from which it is possible to admire the whole umbrian valley from Spoleto up to Montefalco and Assisi.

we all loved the property. It was just what we wanted an authentic Italian farmhouse to relax and refresh in. The pool was well maintained by a local who checked in everyday to see that things were Ok. We had everything we needed and would recommend this property if you want to enjoy a slice of real Italy away from crowds and the usual Tourist spots.Fantastic views and a stunning location.

The house is a charming old house with all the aminities one needs. Every day the pool is cleaned by Gabrielle, a very nice old man. The house is beautifully located in the hills above de valey of Spoleto and in fact on the pilgrims road between Spoleto and Assisi. We made some beautiful walks. The garden is shaded en well suited for dogs. Ours loved it. We certainly hope to return.

It's not easy to do justice to this unusual holiday home. The location is fantastic, with breathtaking views of the Valle Umbra all the way to Spoleto. Unfortunately, this location also means the house is difficult to reach. You can only park at the top of the mountain. The beautiful old farmhouse has been lovingly restored at some point. There's plenty of space, but unfortunately the house is full of things and has only little space for personal belongings. The quaint but impractically furnished kitchen contains two refrigerators, neither of which works reliably. The kitchen equipment leaves to be desired. Of the two indoor showers, only one is usable, but it's very small. The pool water was green when we arrived (heavy rain before) the water quality only improved after a few days. Apparently, there isn't an adequate filtration system. There is Wi-Fi in the house, but the internet is very weak. The lighting in the house is a bit poor with a lot of makeshift lights. The property's unusual location, along with its many advantages, also brings with it disadvantages for which the landlord is not responsible. But to justify the high price, the house needs modernization. Above all, the technical equipment needs to be improved. We encountered some kind of problem almost every day, which the extremely friendly and helpful caretaker, Gabriele, always took care of quickly. All in all, we had a good time in Campello Alto, but we were annoyed too often by avoidable problems.
