About this villa rental

Located in the North-West countryside of Lucca, between the town and the Versilian coast, The villa is a welcoming and secluded property, rich in colors, harmony and comforts. We are conveniently located close to the famous beach resorts of Versilia and the magic town of Lucca. Since it is less than 12 km from the motorway exit, it is an ideal base for visiting the main Tuscan towns. Guests who rented our villa in the past have particularly appreciated the beauty and quiet of the estate. The Villa has been built with modern materials and furnished, and is especially bright and full of light. Its structure makes it ideal for two families ( two separte kitchens ) who wish to take a holiday together, while maintaining their own privacy.Modern facilities, including a TVsat and WIFI connection,hydromassage have also been provided. Shops and restaurants are located at only 500 metres from the villa. .In front of the house there is a lovely large covered patio furnished as an outside sitting area, with table and chairs, which is ideal for eating outside. The big pool (12 metres x 6 h.1.2 /2.5) is just in front of the terrace, in a level garden that is well suited for young families. Nice outdoor garden area for children: two nice swings and a sandypit.The area around the villa is ideal for people who love cycling

Alessandro was a wonderful host and very accommodating. The villa was a little difficult to find but he helped us navigate. The property is beautiful and clean and has amazing views that elicit joy. The only recommendation I would have is to have tea, water and coffee available for guests which is what we experienced at other properties we stayed at on our travels. The rooms were spacious and offered privacy and common areas were perfect for gathering.

It was a very nice property, a lot of space and facilities in a very nice environment. Surrounded by hills but not far to the sea to enjoy some day trips at the boulevard.The swimming pool is amazing for kids to have fun!!Thank you Alessandro for your nice property and easy check-in and check-out.

Beautiful home, perfectly situated and kitted for large families, we had nine guests between the ages of 13 to 77, and there was plenty of space and comfort for everyone. Various seating and eating areas, both indoor and outdoor, allowed us to spread out and convene as a unit as we wished. This was a good location to explore Lucca, Pisa, Viareggio and more. We even found a difficult hike nearby for a subset of the family. But what we wanted was a trip that allowed us to explore AND relax by the pool with books (or ping pong tournaments) and it couldn’t have been better. Our host was wonderful. He came by to check on us and was very responsive before and during our stay. A local chef, Marinella, came in one night to prepare an absolutely fabulous meal for the group. This will be one of our nicest memories from the trip.

Our extended family group of 9 people (aged 14-77) really enjoyed our stay! The house is spacious and comfortable. The pool was a big hit. Village of San Martino in Freddana has lots amenities including bakery, bar, restaurants and pharmacy. Lucca a short drive away and is a gem. Highly recommend riding bikes around the wall and climbing the tower. Alessandro was very responsive and checking in and out was seamless and easy. Guests who want to use the pool should pack pool towels as they are not provided. All in all a fabulous home base for a week in Tuscany! Ciao!!!

Our family of twelve, aged 8 to 80 years, stayed in one villa with plenty of room for all. We ate our meals at the villa. The upstairs kitchen was well-equipped with pots, pans and tableware, and there were two large dining tables (one indoor and one outdoor). Two drip coffee pots were available as well as a nespresso machine. A moka pot was also available. We did not use the downstairs kitchen, but it seemed similarly equipped. I recommend bringing coffee, toilet paper and any kitchen consumables (oils, apices, foil, etc). The view of the Tuscan hills from the patio is great. The pool was closed for the season during our visit, but I can imagine it would be amazing during the summer. Check-In and Check-Our went smoothly. Two installment payments were made prior to check-in. Access is via a key left available so late check-in was no issue. I highly recommend this property for your visit to Tuscany if you’re looking for a good home base to explore from with plenty of space to share meals with your family.

Great, clean, spacious house with an amazing big salt-water pool. Enough space outside and inside for our big family with 9 adults and 2 kids. View on the green Toscane hills and no neighbours that can look inside. Alessandro is very helpful, speaks good English and was always quick to answer our questions. Definitely recommomended to others.

Beautiful villa with lots of amenities. My family enjoyed using the ping pong table and swing set. Wish it had been summer so we could have used the pool area. Very spacious for a large family or group. Easy and quick response from the owner. Enjoyed our stay!!

Good place to unwind, which is suitable for a group. The property's playroom and garden play area was great for children. The pool was easily accessible. Both the inside and outside was well suited to allow our group to be together or separate. The kitchen is well equipped, although could benefit from a few more plug sockets. Joanna & Alessandro were charming hosts, they greeted us and were able to answer questions and make suggestions. The local supermarket , take-away Pizzeria and Gelateria are all close by. Florence, Pisa,and the coast are easily accessible, Lucca is close by and all worth a visit. Overall a location we highly recommend.

What a lovely place to holiday! San Martino in Freddana was magical and Lucca was just 10 minutes away and amazing. The villa was very impressive on first appearance, we then found a few things that weren’t good. The microwave didn’t work, the iron was broken, many lightbulbs were not working and the kitchen utensils were basic. As a party of 7 we managed but if the villa was full to capacity, there wouldn’t have been enough glasses etc. The basement was very dark and incredibly damp while we were there, it was raining though. One of my children’s mattresses was covered in mould which was a big put off as she is asthmatic and suffered because of it. We had paid a service charge for a cleaner but week 1 only beds and towels were changed, week 2 the bathrooms were cleaned too but at no point was the floor swept or mopped. The swimming pool was absolutely gorgeous but the plastic grid round the outside was obviously brittle and my husband fell through it, badly injuring his foot. That said, the caretakers did offer to get us medical assistance if we needed it. The outdoor slabs were extremely slippery and all but one of us slipped over on them resulting in various minor injuries. All in all, the location was amazing, the villa was very nice but not quite as luxury as led to believe. Joanna was extremely helpful all of the time. Nice holiday had by all.

We were 3 families (6 adults / 6 children) sharing this house. The first impression is was very good, spacious house with a large garden and salt water swimming pool. The pool was excellent and we absolutely loved it. The flat garden was ideal for running and playing but be aware of bees/wasps around the pool. The location was very quiet except for the neighbor that loved to take his motorbike for a ride constantly. Good location with walking distance to gelateria and grocery shop. The general standard was good, however there could be some improvements: 1. The lower floor was very moist and had signed of water damage at de lower part of the walls. The owners had installed air driers that needed to be emptied every second day. 2 bedrooms was located at the lower floor. 2. The kitchen at the lower floor was completely without any cutlery/equipment. The kitchen on the middle floor was very small with little equipment and space for making food. However we asked the caretakers for more knives ect. and it was supplied instantly. 3. The outdoor dining table was only suited for 8 people and not for a bigger party. We squeezed the hole party of 12 to the tale but it was not ideal. This also applied for the outdoor sofa group near the pool. 4. Only 5 sunbeads was a bit little for such a big party. In general we liked the house and would like to recommend it. The main issue was the moisture in the lower floor.

We were are group of 3 families sharing this home with small children. It worked wonderfully. The home was very clean and the hosts were very accommodating and helpful, the location is close to Lucca city center, just a short beautiful drive away. Easy day trips to Pisa and Florence as well from this location. We would not hesitate in recommending this villa!

We had a wonderful stay at the villa. It was incredibly spacious, with 3 separate living areas, 2 kitchens, 3 bathrooms and 5 bedrooms - more than enough room for all of us. The downstairs play area for the kids had toys and games available. Everybody loved the pool! The kids also couldn't get enough of the table tennis, slide, sandpit, hammock, ball games... there was just so much to do. Everything was clean and well looked after. The location is excellent, with a lot of amenities close by. The local supermarket is only a 2 min drive away, and has lots of fresh fruit and veggies, a good butcher and bakery. It was nice to stay in a village, where you could go for a walk to get an ice cream in the afternoon or up to the church where there was a playground for the kids. We had a car to get around and do some sightseeing (Lucca, Pisa, Barga, beaches, Cinque Terre). Communication with Joanna and Carlo before and during the stay was friendly, prompt and informative. All in all, we highly recommend this property.

Had a fantastic family holiday. The villa was beautiful,spacious and comfortable with all the facilities you could need. It's only 5 minute walk to the town, which has a pizzeria, good supermarket and ice cream shop, and bar. Though it's close to the town it still feels secluded and private. The drive to Lucca was about 12 mins, and it's a beautiful city to walk around. Joanna and Carlos are very friendly and helpful. Joanna and Emily prepared a delicious meal for us during our stay, and also gave us good recommendations for local restaurants. The saltwater pool was great to have especially as it was so hot during our stay. Our kids ages 3, 6 and 8 spent most of their time in the pool, and the garden was a great size for them all to play, my oldest really enjoyed the ping pong table outside! And they all enjoyed the swings and slide. I'd highly recommend, we will be talking about this holiday for years to come and hopefully we will return one day! Thanks
