About this house rental
Marie's Cottage is an ideal seaside family bungalow.
It is located right on Pagham Beach and therefore has direct access onto the beach and panoramic views along it and out to sea.
Local shops are less than a mile away as is the world renowned Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve. It is within 8 miles of Chichester, Goodwood and Bognor Regis, which makes it a perfect base from which to explore and enjoy the South Downs and attend events such as the Goodwood Revival and Chichester Festival. The beach is also popular with windsurfers/kitesurfers.
The bungalow has a large reception room which looks out onto the beach, a kichen/dining room also with views onto the beach, two double bedrooms (one of the beds can be separated into two singles upon request at time of booking), one with an en–suite shower, and a family bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a washing machine. Full central heating and Wi–Fi.
At the rear there is off street parking for 3 cars and well behaved dogs are welcome.
Pagham village has all the amenities you would need, there are four pubs, shops, restaurants and a Post Office. There are stunning walks all around the area, including around the Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve which is ideal for bird watching, photography or just a place to relax and enjoy nature. Coastal walks, Chichester Marina and the South Downs National Park are all within easy reach.
The city of Chichester with all its attractions, including the famous Festival Theatre, the cathedral, medieval walls, art galleries, shops and restaurants, is an easy 6 mile drive away. The nearby Goodwood Estate, set in the heart of the South Downs National Park, is home to some world class events, such as The Festival of Speed, Glorious Goodwood Horse Racing and The Revival vintage car meeting at the motor racing circuit. There are also two first class golf courses. Further afield, to the west, is the historic city of Portsmouth with its Naval Dockyard and to the east, the exciting city of Brighton. Both road and rail links along the coast are easily accessible, as well as there being a direct rail link to London from Chichester.

This was our second stay at the cottage & it fits our needs very well. We are hoping to return on a regular basis, as it’s perfect for our needs.
However, I do think there is room for improvement - spruce things up a little. The property could do with a deep clean. The surface cleaning is fine, but the taps, carpets, chairs and cushions, for example, could do with a good clean to remove stains.
- The microwave is very old, as are a lot of the utensils and it would be a good idea to replace these.
- it would be nice to have loungers for the outside, as the plastic chairs aren’t comfortable and a bbq would be a welcome addition.
Having said this, we wouldn’t keep returning if we didn’t love it, which we absolutely do & I will actually be booking again today. Coming back to the cottage felt like our little home from home & it was lovely to know exactly what we would find.
I would definitely recommend this property to others … but not until I’ve got my bookings in please .

This was our 5th visit to Marie Cottage - we love it. The cottage is very spacious and comfy with a beautiful view of the sea, which you open the doors onto. We find it really relaxing and enjoy staying in and doing our art and crafts. It’s also very close to shopping areas. Would definitely recommend!

We enjoyed our time at this property. It was comfortably furnished and well equipped and we particularly liked the spacious daytime living area. Lovely sea views were a real bonus. Easy parking. The road to the property could do with improvement but it certainly did not detract from our stay.
