Maybe not perfect for winter stay, opportunities for seasonal activities are limited

The location is superb, just a stone’s throw from the beautiful Lake Kalwa. Be ready to take a dip. An extra benefit is the enjoyable garden in the back of the house.

It’s hugely overrated on booking.com. Disappointment No. 1: You expect a three-bedroom house, as the description on booking.com says. Well, it’s not: you only find 2 bedrooms plus a sofa-like bed right behind the main entrance door. The room looks like an entry-hall to leave your coat and change your shoes if it were not for a TV set. But don’t be frustrated: in compensation, you’ll find a second kitchen, a real one, upstairs for which you find no reason or use. Disappointment No. 2: Sitting on the cosy terrace, you can’t miss occasional spells of gasoline smell. Soon you find out that it’s not only the porch that smells ill but also the entire ground floor and mainly the entry-hall/bedroom. You start looking for the source of the odeur worrying about a possible gas leak, as gasoline is commonly used as a marker of natural gas. Luckily, the landlord calms you down: there’s no gas in the house, the smell comes from the heating-system fuel, no risk of fire or explosion. Well, good to know, but it doesn’t make the “3rd bedroom” any more sleepable. The extra kitchen comes handy after all: you have a place to organize an improvised clean air bed. Disappointment No. 3: If you’re a family of five like us and want to prepare a dinner for all in one go, you have a problem: the pots are too small and too few. And if you like to indulge in a cup of coffee, save your time and effort: there is no coffee maker, not even a simple French press, even though the booking.com description promises one. Etc., etc., etc. …
