Mala Cele

It was a perfect apartment that met all our expectations. It was very important to fill comfortably 1 week with 2 kids and the atmosphere at house contributes to this and we felt like at home. Check-in and ckeck-out gifts from the landlord were plesant and unexpected. There is an individual approach to each guest. I can recommend staying here on 100%.

The apartment is located a couple of kilometres or so from the sea on the lower slopes of Biokovo mountain. It has a lovely balcony with amazing views of the sea and nearby islands of Brac and Hvar. It takes about 6 minutes to drive down to the town of Podgora with its pretty harbour, beaches and nice restaurants. It is also only 15 minutes away from the larger Makarska all. Mala Cele is situatated among a charming group of old buildings near a small village, some are of these empty and being reclaimed by nature and some are in use with lovely gardens with vines and roses, the feel is very rural and peaceful. Looking out from the balcony to the left hand side a rocky out crop has been made in to a garden with stone walling and railings, through it a path leads out into extensive low growing olive groves. The views of the mountains and sea are just stunning and there are full views of the sunset from the balcony. In late May, when we went, the slopes were covered with yellow flowering broom, orange wild pomegranate flowers and wild roses along with other local plant such as nigella. To me the location could not have been better, so quiet and beautiful. The apartment itself has been finished to a high standard, the exposed stone walls and smart tiled floor really are very nice indeed There is a good quality induction hob and new oven in the kitchen with plenty of equipment and decent knives etc for those who like cooking, there is a modern quiet aircon unit above the back door which door which opens into a pretty garden area with a stone barbeque and steps up to a roof terrace though this has not got a hand rail so is not suitable for children. As you can tell I very much enjoyed staying at Celestinas' house, we only met her step dad who was lovely and her mum gave us a gift of one of her beautiful paintings when we left. We loved this cosy and very well equiped house. Lovely details that make it to feel like a home, spotlessly cleanliness, silence of the area and the beautiful view, all make this place one of these that you want to come back to. Thank you for the nice handmade gift and for paying so much attention to details. They mattered to us :) PS - for the ones interested, Biokovo Skywalk "entrance" is at 3 minutes away by car ;)
