"The Tottsie was in the most perfect location, we couldn't have asked for a better view. The cottage itself was exactly what we liked- quirky, historic ( 17th Century ), comfortable."

Peace and quiet in comfort !
No breakfast but then it was self catering accommodation. The property was cosy and relaxing in a fantastic location. Clean and tidy and with a log burner , what's not to like ? Definitely recommend to everyone with the exception of the infirm or disabled , steep stairs ! Downstairs toilet is a bonus though ! The cottage is well equipped nevertheless and a panoramic view of Bassenthwaite to the hills beyond.
Parking is a problem with no dedicated space at the property.....

Great views and an awesome quirky and quiet cottage to get away to
The location and the bedroom and the views were beautiful
Sadly there are some maintenance issues. Due to a plumbing and a build up of hair in the bath the plug got stuck and the smell was awful sadly. We had to buy a plunger to fix it ourselves. Also there was a random t shirt in our room when we arrived. Not a problem just constructive advice for the future. I would also say the information could maybe be shared better about parking and the garden as we had to search around for it otherwise it was lovely

Adequate for a few nights
Location & scenery Cosy cottage with character & charm. Log fire Nice kitchen & good cooking utensils Lovely bathroom downstairs
Check in/out times changed the day or two before arrival after we'd already made plans. Assumed this was for cleaning but the cottage is in need of a good clean. Shower room smelt damp & dirty. Living area smelt musty. Shower barely had any pressure. Garden was out of the way, had to go through neighbouring property I believe, I didn't make the effort to find it. Car parking is up the small bank to the main road.

Outstanding location but..
View from the living room was outstanding! House was large enough for a family of four, one large bed and two singles. The location was fantastic for what we wanted to do big walks around the lakes.
Message regarding holiday notes was quite confusing for several reasons. We did try to call couple of times throughout the week and both office phone and emergency line, every time went straight to voicemail. House was advertised as parking available, and yes it did say booking parking not available but this does not indicate that parking was on a road away from the house. when I tried to contact via message they simply replied “refer to previous message” week before our stay. the house didn’t have parking, the lay-by parking which was on the road past several other cottages was not always available, this was quite important with two small children, I don’t think this should be advertised as parking available. The garden was also only accessible walking through to the end of the row of cottages, again not really suitable for young children. The house it self although great location and large rooms, however it is desperate for a good clean. The beds smelt very strongly of air freshener, carpets had obviously been vacuumed but smelt strongly of dog urine. There wasn’t any spare linen, which is fine as we could use the washing machine but relying on good weather to dry in time we would’ve needed spares if it had rained more.

Well located cottage
The location of the cottage. The views from the living room were amazing.
The cottage needed a deep clean. The furniture needs updating.

We would highly recommend the Tottsie- it was perfect for us !
The Tottsie was in the most perfect location, we couldn't have asked for a better view. The cottage itself was exactly what we liked- quirky, historic ( 17th Century ), comfortable.
The fact that the garden behind the Tottsie belonged to the neighbouring cottage. The Tottsie's garden was at the end of the cottages.

Great position- needs better customer support and some upgrades.
Well positioned for exploring the area; unpredictable parking- couldn’t fit in the lay-by as it was already full of cars. Beds comfortable, kitchen well equipped but markings on cooker almost impossible to read as worn away. Water pressure poor and shower tray kept filling so showers had to be stopped and started.
As above plus despite booking for 4, only towels for 2 people. Message sent to owners with absolutely no response at all. Unhappy with this service as we had to manage this situation with 4 adults for 4 days .

Cosy, great views, great location
A lovely cottage, nicely located with beautiful views. The local pub - within walking distance - was an added bonus for great local food and drink.
