About this cottage rental
Pictures cannot do this gem of a cottage justice. lovely, secluded detached with . It is one of seven cottages on this 4 acre estate. Trehill Cottages in Callington, SE Cornwall is a small development of lakeside cottages with Hot tub (extra charge of £50 per week or £40 for a short break applies), wifi, fishing, on-site facilities, leisure club membership (facilities charges apply) and much more!
Our two fishing ponds are a major attraction. These are private ponds with only guests being able to fish. This keeps them in great condition and means there are always plenty of spots available. Stocked fish include Carp, Mirror Carp and Tench. Top fish weight is about 17lbs
Lilliput also makes a great base for our golf breaks being close to China Fleet or St Mellion’s two championship golf courses.
Being on one level, it is particularly accessible for the less mobile
There is a large living room with glazed brick walls leading out into the large vaulted conservatory with private terrace . It is a perfect place to cook a barbecue or relax with a book or a glass of wine. There are two a good-sized bedrooms. Both have en-suite shower rooms.
Facilities: king sized bed in main bedroom, King or twin in bedroom 2, Ample wardrobes, Colour TV, and fast wifi. Microwave, Washing Machine, Dishwasher, Full central heating, Fridge, Tumble drier on site, Bed linen electricity and heating included. Large garden. Cot available on request,- Free broadband internet access. Sorry but we cannot accept pets and smoking is not allowed inside the cottages.
Games room - refurbished in 2021 with indoor and outdoor table tennis, Pool table, air hockey & table football. All free to use.
Outdoor pool - is shared with the other three cottages at Trehill cottages, as well as the three neighbouring Long Barn cottages.

We had a fantastic time staying at Lilliput Cottage. Frances and Neville were excellent hosts and very responsive. The grounds are brilliant for families with a great shallow swimming pool, games room, outdoor table tennis, the lake, a donkey that you can feed and a very nice playground area. The location was very good for visiting north Cornwall and we made good use of the China Fleet membership offer. The shared pool operates with a booking system and it’s actually the best way to run it. You can use the pool area for up to two hours per day, which is actually plenty, and you have it to yourselves during that time. Frances and Neville were incredibly flexible with that as well. The hot tub was another highlight. Inside, the cottage was very comfortable. We didn’t use the conservatory very much but there was plenty of space in the cottage and the beds were comfortable. There was also a nice outdoor dining area, which we made good use of. We really enjoyed our stay and we’re very grateful to Frances and Neville for their hospitality.

Lovely location , plenty to see and do locally . Trip to Golitha falls well worth a trip just bring good walking boots or wellies. Hot tub small but perfect for 2 adults and 1 child and the house is in a beautiful quiet location.

Nice country location outside Callington and good facilities.
Felt that the Lilliput cottage could do with an update..... The double bad was very soft and bowed in the middle so my husband and I slept terribly until we swap with the kids on 2 singles 😔.
The 3 seater sofa was also very uncomfortable.
The cottage was cleaned well but things like the showers are starting to go mouldy. The kettle leaked and the toilet seat lid kept falling off. Neither of the bathroom vanity lights worked so neither did the charging points for toothbrushes.
The floor in the conservatory had swelled and started to raise up.
The owners did live on site but didn't seem approachable 🤷🏼♀️ the lady owner dropped off something we ordered and scuttled away too quickly to engage in conversation.
Also a little bit peturbed that the hot tub was an extra cost (I understand they need notice to get it prepared, but the extra £35 a week seemed excessive and we haven't had to pay a supplement at other places)
As for fixtures & fittings, there was just about enough cooking essentials to get by 👍🏻.
The place had a bit of a tired, unloved appearance to it and sadly not what we'd expected from the pictures.
Also no visitor book so couldn't draw on the experience of others about places to go and things to see, which we always find helpful.
