About this house rental
Super location and best value for a longer stay (6 night Minimum - check our discounts). Relax in the shade of the moss draped, ancient oaks and cedars St. Mary's is famous for. Seagrove House is just 2 blocks from the Waterfront Park, fishing pier, and live music; playground; kayak, fishing tackle, and bicycle rental; restaurants, shops, museums; the Cumberland Island Ferry landing, and everything St. Mary's has to offer. Enjoy viewing the wildlife - and also the regular festivals and live music at the park. Bring your (well-behaved only!) dog and experience the peace and privacy of a large, screened porch and fenced* back yard. Convenient to Kings Bay Naval Base, and the island beaches. Cable TV, wireless internet, and a printer/ copier for remote work. There is space in the side yard to park a boat trailer, and a carport to load and unload your car out of the rain. The house was built in the '40s, with a third bedroom and second bathroom added above a family room a few decades later. Kitchen and baths have been updated. The exterior is the traditional tabby - just like many of the buildings from the early 1900s and before. Seagrove is our winter home, we have a navy family, and we welcome those who need a temporary furnished home.

We enjoyed our stay very much...loved the place...would definitely rent it again...hopefully next year:) Loved sitting in the porch listening to the birds...nice and quiet...everything we needed was at our finger tips...except...the coffee pot had moldy grounds in it and we didn't want to use it...the caretaker said he would order us one from Amazon...never did...brought over a used 5cup pot...we are big coffee drinkers and spent a lot of time making pots and pots of coffee...we won't let that keep us from renting your place again...loved staying there:)

Location, location!! Good, flat walking areas. Amazing old cemetery! Beautiful waterfront park and fantastic shrimp!! It is rare to find a property allowing dogs which does not have a weight limit. Our boy is 104 pounds. Convenient fenced yard as long as your pet is not a jumper; there is a lower section near the carport. The large screen porch is a pleasure. Fall is a great time to visit! The community goes all out for Halloween. We did leave two days earlier than planned. Family room seating was not comfortable. We are seniors so difficult on our bones. Also, even though we were celebrating our 60th anniversary, we slept in separate rooms. I managed in the front bedroom even though the mattress is extremely soft; too soft for my husband’s back. It is an older home but have everything you need as long as the seating and mattresses suit you.
