About this villa rental

Located in the historic part of Bragança. Having the river Fervença and the magnificent castle of Bragança as view.
Capacity for 6 (it could be admitted 1 child more, under the age of 2 years).
Three rooms:
Room 1 - double bed, cradle, bathroom.
Room 2 - double bed,
Room 3 - 1 bunk with two places,
2 bathrooms, kitchen (refrigerator, microwave oven, stove) living room,
terrace.
Garden/backyard (where you could keep your dog).
Swimming pool.
Central heating, and hot water.


Bragança Municipality: The municipality of Bragança is part of the frontier of the Montesinho Natural Park, established in 1979 to safeguard the distinct elements of the region. The creation of this eco-region was made to preserve the existing qualities and allow human/cultural interaction. Montesinho is classified into forests and woods (oak and chestnut plantations at the base of the Coroa Mountains, the Tuela and lower Baceiro Rivers); wood and pine forests (forests and shrub vegetation in the western and eastern Rio Maças, Aveleda, Portelo/Montesinho, Mofreito/Montouto, Pinheiros, Serrea da Coroa, Vilar Seco da Lomba); a sub-Atlantic mixed farming area (around the Tuela and Baceiro Rivers); open space that allow farming along the plateaus of Baçal, Aveleda, Onor, Deilão); and the granite mountains of oak and birch species, mainly within the park and Pinheiros area.

Bragança Climate: The climate in Bragança (the north-eastern most district capital Portuguese city) is influenced by the distance from the coast and the elevation. It is very similar to the continental climate of the Spanish Meseta and other European regions removed from the influence of the ocean, which means long rigorous winters (even by European standards) and short hot summers. Snow in winter is very common and can last for several days. The high in January is around 9 °C (48 °F) while the August and July high is around 29 °C (84 °F). The January low hovers around the freezing point. It has been known to snow in May, and winter temperatures can fall to as low as ?18 °C (?0 °F). The annual mean is around 12 °C (54 °F). The mean total rainfall in a year is 689 mm. The year of 2005 was particularly dry in Portugal and Bragança suffered water shortages and devastating forest fires in the rural areas.

Bragança Architecture: Notable landmarks in the city include the 12th-century Domus Municipalis (Portugal's oldest and largest town hall), the Renaissance cathedral, and the old town walls, which are still well preserved and look down on the river and the modern city.

Et lille pudsigt hus midt i den gamle bydel i Braganca. Huset ligger ned til en lille flod og man kan ikke køre helt til huset. Vi fandt dog en god parkeringsplads lidt hende af stien langs floden og brugte den hele ugen. Huset selv er en ombygget gammel bolig og har en ugenert lille have med pool (som kan skærmes af hvis der er små børn). Man er indenfor gå afstand af både byens centrum og slottet, dog skal man være forberedt på at skulle længere væk hvis man vil købe lidt større ind, da de små lokale forretninger ikke har meget at byde på, udover lidt brød, ost, frugt, grønt og vin. Værtsparret er flinke og hjælpsomme og taler noget engelsk. Vi have et godt ophold 3 voksne og fik set et lille hjørne af Portugal som ligger væk fra de typiske touristområder.

Een woning die wel wat wandelwerk er naartoe behoeft. Maar meer dan de moeite waard. Erg rustig gelegen en een heerlijk zwembad.

Nous etions 6 personnes (2 adultes, 1 ado, 2 enfants et 1 bébé). Nous avions toute la place nécessaire, bien que le jardin soit très petit. La maison est très propre et bien équipée, et les propriétaires particulièrement charmants. La piscine est petite mais convient parfaitement à des jeunes enfants. La maison est très bien placée dans les ruelles de la vieille ville de Braganca (accès en voiture et stationnement un peu technique), juste au bord d'une riviere très bien aménagée. Je recommanderais cette location à des personnes aimant la randonnée en montagne tout en souhaitant séjourner dans une "vraie" ville.
