La maison des vacances

Charmante petite maison de village très ancienne très bien restaurée, nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Merci pour la touchante attention à notre arrivée, si nous n'avons pas vu nos hôtes, ils ont été au petit soin avec nous. Location conforme à notre attente. L'emplacement du gîte est juste à côté d'un restaurant mais l'endroit est quand même assez calme.

Sehr angenehme Lage im hübschen Zentum von Auzat, direkt am Fluss. Ruhig und luftig, wir konnten mit offenem Fenster schlafen. Gute und praktische Ausstattung. Öffentlicher Parkplatz ganz in der Nähe. Unkomplizierter Check-in.

Location was excellent for our purposes. It made an excellent base for walks in the mountains. All the facilities for getting a shower, comfortable bed and dining room/kitchen were there + easy access to local restaurants.

Not much we didn't like.

Situated in a sleepy town called Auzat, next to a gently flowing river and the only bar and restaurant in this area, this place offers peace and quietness in the highest degree, except for Friday evenings when most of the youngsters seem to gather at the bar to have a beer or two. Strangest thing is that they were nowhere to be seen on Saturday anymore. The parking lot is located some 50 meters further, but you are allowed to put your car next to the place for loading and unloading, so we saw no real issue with that. The fully equipped kitchen allows you to prepare your own food, but make sure to pick up some groceries before you get there. There is a small grocery store nearby but it only offers limited supplies. There is a balcony on the second floor which – at first sight – seems to be a bit too small to sit on, but with a bit of creativity we enjoyed some wonderful evenings there. It might be a good idea however to add a second chair there. Luckily we had brought our own, since we were also camping at other places during our holidays in France. There are a lot of stairs in this house but actually this is something you get used to. After all, you are in a mountain area, so what’s the big deal?
