Las Cabraliegas

Perfect for a family of four, in a small Aldea 5 minutes walking to the main village. Beautiful views and the boys loved accompanying the cows in the evening.back home. The house was comfortable and with all the main things required for a short stay. The host was also extremely helpful and friendly.

Being picky, an iron and the fridge/freezer small for four people (we do cook a lot though)

Loved the porch view, free parking, easy check in, heating option, location close to trails.

Lack of cutting board and utilities eg sharp knife but I would come back. Recommended if you eat outside the property.

This felt like “real” Spain. A local village community, on a hillside with superb views. The cows were walked through the village twice a day by a lady and her dog, to the milking shed. All the local pets seemed to meet up once or twice a day, and the farmer got round on his tractor with his work. The views are spectacular, from our little shaded terrace, the lounge, the bedroom, and even the bathroom. It was a steep climb from the village, but there was a shortcut path, and it only took about 10 minutes. We had a car, and parking was easy and safe right by the side of the house. Our hosts lived next door and were friendly, but left us to do our thing. We booked this, to see the other side of the Picos, and to do the Cares gorge trail, but found the cheese caves museum, and the Bulnes Funicular, which was also a great day out, and superb walk down. The house was way more than we needed, 2 shower rooms and 2 bedrooms. (The pictured really don’t show it properly). We spent all of our time on the shaded terrace outside. But we thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

The hot water was excessively hot and we had to be very careful with it. I did let the owner know, but only as we left. It did not spoil anything.
