The cottage was absolutely gorgeous, the very picture of the quaint little British cottage! well furnished and equipped + with a stunning view from the master bedroom that makes for memorable mornings. Exceptionnally well situated : while it lays outside of the center per se, Grasmere was easily accessible by foot. We had a very lovely stay and would come back with no hesitation.

We had a very restful stay at Claire’s cottage. There are plenty of walks which you can access from the cottage and the location is superb for walking into the village. ( via a public footpath)

Staying at this beautiful cottage just a short wander away from the centre of Grasmere- we had such a fantastic holiday packed full of hikes from the doorstep, an Ambleside Parkrun, the theatre and lovely cakes and pub dinners. Would recommend!

The property was in an ideal location on the edge of Grasmere with just a ten minute walk on footpaths into the village. The house had all the facilities we needed and was clean and well maintained. The house was part of an original 18th century farm complex and retained a number of original features. The modernisation of the house was sympathetic to the heritage of the building. A great base for a peaceful and relaxed stay, and perfect for accessing the wide range of walks, and places of interest, which are available in and around the Central Fells.

Great location, can go for walks from the cottage but easy road access for other areas of the Lake District. Cottage has no garden but is a very comfortable place to stay, cosy, well-equipped and characterful. It’s part of a development of converted farm buildings but peaceful and with good parking. Nice view from upstairs bedroom over the hills above Grasmere. 15 minute pleasant footpath walk into Grasmere.

The property was generally good. Nice location for walking and visits to the town centre. The cottage was comfortable, if a bit smaller than anticipated. However, it is lacking a few essentials:- The shower control is broken (missing the handle), so is difficult to turn on/off There was no tea-towel The was no wooden spoon There was no recycling bin, other than for glass

We stayed in Hollens Farm Cottage in Grasmere and it was a thoroughly enjoyable break. The footpath from the accommodation into Grasmere village was a lovely 8 minute walk and the cottage itself is very clean, well equipped and peaceful.

Lovely cottage,very clean and comfortable,everything you require for a lovely quiet getaway. So many walks on your doorstep you don't even need to take the car out. The owners were very informative and included an information book for anyone that has not experienced the lake district. This is our 4th hiking trip in the grasmere area and Hollens Farm Cottage is definitely one of the best we have stayed in. Highly recommended and we will definitely be staying again . Thankyou.

This was our second visit to the cottage (we stayed last year). I'm pleased to say that we enjoyed it just as much. The cottage is very comfortable, and the location close to Grasmere is so good. We did some walks from the cottage (Helms Crag) and drove to others (eg Buttermere). We ate at The Yan (up the road) and had a delivery to the cottage from the Jumble Room, and finished the week with fish and chips by Winderemere.

Nice cosy accommodation all amenities but really should have basics provided, loo roll kitchen towel, towels salt and pepper, but most of all a few logs for the first fire rather frustrating to drive 300 miles and then get back in the car for another 15 miles to buy logs. We had a lovely stay at Hollens Farm Cottage. The cottage is situated in a great spot a very short walk from Grasmere village. Very cosy and clean kitchen and living room downstairs and good sized bedrooms. It was great to stay somewhere that felt very "Lake District" but everything was modern enough to make it a comfortable stay too! Would definitely go back.

Many thanks Claire, the place was perfect. Plenty of room and the aga and wood burner were a real treat for a few warm cosy evenings. Woild highly recommend this place. Grasmere is a great base for exploring the lakes and the village has all you need while at the same time being close to the main attractions of the lakes. Excellent. Will definitely stay here again when we return to the lakes.

Clear info about how to access property. Cottage is very tastefully decorated and immaculately clean; it's comfortable, warm and cosy too. Its location is excellent, just a few minutes walk across field to the lovely village of Grasmere and there are loads of walks straight from the door. The only view is from the double bedroom as the cottage is surrounded by other buildings. We stayed in February so weren't planning on sitting outside, but as the courtyard right outside the door is where guests' car is parked, not sure how that would work? Owners were keen to remind guests to leave the property clean and strip beds before the fairly early departure time of 9.30. Also guests have to provide their own towels and make sure they have a loo roll with them on arrival! Paying for heating in cash at the end of the stay was slightly inconvenient as we had to get change from neighbours. But all in all a very pleasant stay in a lovely wee cottage

This cottage is well-equipped, and for a winter break it is ideal, in that it is very well insulated with double-glazing in new sash-windows, thick walls, and some sort of heating under the bathroom floor. It stayed warm all day with the thermostat turned down, while we were out, and was perfectly pleasant when we returned. Also, the situation is excellent, with a pleasant five-minute walk into Grasmere village.

This was our first visit to the Lake District and we loved it! Hollens Farm Cottage was wonderful! Characterful and homely. Aga and wood burner made the cottage warm and cozy after long walks. Cottage provided plenty of room and everything we needed. Everything within walking distance. We will definitely return!

We really enjoyed our stay, it was such a pleasure to return to after our long walks in the fells. The location is excellent, just a short walk into Grasmere village and plenty of good longer walks nearby. We didn't meet the owner but the instructions we were given were clear to follow. Would be keen to return to at some time in the future.

Hollens Farm Cottage is a beautiful characterful place to stay. The master bedroom is gorgeous with stunning views over the Grasmere countryside. The cottage is within easy walking distance of the village and lake and Wordsworth's Dove Cottage is literally just up the road. We did some excellent walks from the front door! We stayed in the heatwave of July 2018 so the ever-warm kitchen (due to the Rayburn) was not all that welcome but I imagine during normal English weather conditions coming home to a warm home would be delightful!
