I Giardini di Cataldo Sorrento

Our host was incredibly kind and welcoming. She always made sure we had cold water, surprised us with delicious gelato, and went above and beyond to help us get to the ferry when we left. The apartment was spotless, comfortable, and in a great location for exploring Sorrento.

This is an excellent property! It is situated facing a garden with lemon and orange trees, as well as beautiful hydrangeas, scented flowers and many other plants and herbs. When we arrived, we obtained the keys to the property from the co-located Gelateria. They were extremely wonderful at hosting us on arrival, offering us a sampling of their limoncello, as well as lemonade and some excellent gelato. The property is a well kept treasure (almost like a secret garden). Though it is close to all the action (and minutes from the train station), we were surrounded by a peaceful serenity within the garden and the apartment. We were also able to enjoy some freshly squeezed orange juice every morning using the electric juicer in the apartment and some juicy oranges that fell overnight from the trees. Though we did not make lemonade, this would have been possible as well, since there was an abundance of fallen lemons each day! In fact, the gelateria offers a tour and class, which was rather popular with the tourist, though we did not partake due to our short visit. Another important mention is the great air conditioning in this apartment. We faced a heat wave during our stay in Sorrento, but the air conditioning in the unit was extremely efficient and we were very comfortable. This apparently is exceptional as some other visitors in Sorrento shared that their locations did not have great air conditioning units. Overall this apartment and location made us feel like we were home (away from home).

We had thought that the property had a washing machine, but it did not. Nonetheless, there was a extremely efficient and brand new (air conditioned) laundromat 5 minutes away! So though a minor disappointment, it did not take away from pure pleasure we had staying at this property.

Great stay in Sorrento. Perfect location close to the center and train station, but still quiet and relaxing. The staff was very friendly and the lemon garden made the place feel authentic and special.
