The accommodation was first class. All bedrooms en suite, and everything worked perfectly. The kitchen was a bit on the small side for the number of gusts, but again, everything worked. The caretakers, Carole and José, were polite, friendly and helpful. However, we were very disappointed with the state of the grounds in the immediate vicinity of the house. The photos on the website were very misleading. The views from the outside dining area were very restricted, and bore no similarity to the photos. Its terrace looked out onto a stand of dead or dying trees, and any distant views were obscured by shrubs that badly needed pruning in order for the views to be opened up. The poolside shrubbery was similarly very overgrown. We were particularly disappointed with the views of the small lake to the side of the house. Again, there was very poor management of the shrubbery surrounding the lake., thereby completely obscuring the lake itself and the far-reaching views beyond. We mentioned this to the caretakers early on in our stay, but no action was taken. It only needed a couple of hours with a hedge trimmer to open up the scene so that it resembled the website's photos. The overgrown foliage and shrubbery would have certainly contributed to the constant annoyance of the aggressive giant horse flies that plagued the area, particularly around the poolside. Nevertheless, we award this stay 4 out of 5. And if the foliage and shrubs had been dealt with, it would have been 5 out of 5.

We read all of the 5 star reviews before booking and having stayed there we can see why. Everything about the property makes for a good holiday. If you are looking for peace and quiet surrounded by fields and woodland, look no futher. Carole and Jose who manage the property were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive and when we had a small problem with one of the toilets the put it right immediately. We thought the surrounding area was lovely and enjoyed the local markets.

The property is perfect for a family holiday with plenty of room, there were 8 of us including a child. The property includes workshops and storage rooms in the central portion and accommodation for the resident staff at the other end who maintain the property and also three amazing tree houses located in the nearby forest. The resident staff Carole and Joseph were lovely people, always on hand to help with any queries and assist in booking trips. The location is in the countryside well away from any built up areas and that is its charm. There are lovely forest walks on the grounds with lakes and ponds and a pool with sunbathing areas to use. La Bussiere is a lovely (although very quiet) village nearby and the Chateau is well worth a visit. Other enjoyable activities were boat rides on the canals in Briare.

Overall very happy with our stay, and Carole and José were very helpful and friendly, but never intrusive. Unfortunately, we found when we arrived, that the property listing was misleading, as there are only 5 toilets, not the 9 that you get if you add up all of the ones in the Rooms & Beds section, plus there are only 4 "proper" bedrooms, with a sofa bed in the lounge (not a problem for us as we were only a party of 7); you actually only get just under half the building shown in the pictures, as Carole & José occupy the rest, but the photographs are accurate in showing the rooms which form the accommodation. We had temperatures in the high 20s, and the bedrooms were extremely hot overnight (a fan might have helped) and opening the windows was not an option, given the local insect life and the "frog chorus" from the adjacent lake. As mentioned by other reviewers, two of the bathrooms only have handheld shower heads, mounted at tap height, forcing you to either crouch down in the bath, or risk sending water across the bathroom (there's no shower curtain or screen). We had to travel a fair distance for bread, unfortunately, as the boulangerie in La Bussière is closed, but found two excellent ones 50 yards apart, in Nôgent. These issues aside, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay (the fresh eggs from the chickens were an unexpected bonus)!

We were greeted by Carle and her husband who live at the property. They were very helpful and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. We were a party of 8 adults who made good use of the pool, table tennis and numerous walks in the woods and lanes around La Bussiere. The property was spacious and it was great having en suites for each bedroom. 2 have showers and 2 have baths, a point to mention, the baths could do with wall mounted shower heads, rather than at tap level. We bought 8 large wine glasses and left them at the property as the ones available were very small. Also, we had to borrow Carle’s barbecue utensils as none were found , but this wasn’t a problem. We all felt very secure at the property as there are security gates that are operated by the key fob. Separate secluded parking is also useful as cars are kept shaded during the day. All in all, a great holiday was had by our group who thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful location of Les Blots

We were a group of 7 adults (and a dog) coming from 4 different locations in France and the UK. The house is ideally located for those driving or coming by train with the station just a short10 minute drive away. It is a beautiful house in a beautiful setting with the grounds offering ample opportunities for walks in the woods and around the lakes. Inside the house there are four luxury bedrooms each with its own bathroom facilities. We made full use of the excellent swimming pool, the table tennis table, the bikes and the terrace for BBQ's. There is lots to see and do in the area - something for everyone. Carole and Jose looked after us very well - always available in case of queries - we couldn't ask for more. Something to note - are no local shops in La Bussiere - just a small superette with the basics - you need to go a little further afield to find the main supermarkets etc.. All in all it was a great week, calm, relaxing and lots of fun - we definitely plan to go back again!

An absolutely beautiful place, the on site custodians Carole and Jose are fantastic and Incredibly helpful and friendly. The photograph's for the property itself don't do it justice 4 really big bedrooms with ensuit, The sun room downstairs gives the most relaxing views over the lake and surrounding countryside, with the odd glimpse of dear and foxes. Only downside is that it has almost doubled in price for next year or I would of rebooked a return visit straight away.

La Bussiere is simply amazing! Set in 160 hectares of woodland and farmland the huge, beautifully converted barn offers stylish yet comfortable accommodation in a most beautiful setting. Everything was perfect, We are a family of 6 adults and two children. Alix was there to greet us, we were shown around and told to make full use of all the facilities and wander anywhere around the property. All bedrooms are stylish and have en suites. The dining area is huge and there is a lovely shaded terrace with quality furniture outside. There are games for the children, table tennis, lots of bicycles for everyone and the pool area is lovely. The grounds are beautifully kept by the on-site couple who manage things such that you feel you are staying in a grand estate. The local town of La Busier is just minutes away and has a boulangerie and small supermarket for urgent items, and of course, the location is perfect to tour the Loire valley and it's many attractions. Just returned from a week at Les Blot it greatly exceeded our expectations the "Gite" was built and furnished to a standard that would be a tribute to a top class hotel. Extremely quiet and peaceful the owners were helpful and charming cannot recommend it enough. You will need a car to get the most of the area Sancerre and pouilly fume are close by and well worth the visit.

"Friendly welcome, discrete but helpful staff, exceptional cleanliness, a quiet place to relax (except for one day of harvest, but we were informed about that and it happens once a year:), nice and safe surroundings, beautiful views, new (July 2012) rooms and high quality and tasteful design interiors, a beautiful kitchen and all amenities top notch. A great heated pool. All in all, you see a lot of thinking, love and experience went into this house, the interiors and surroundings. A bit pricey for the 2 of us (our dog felt welcome too), the house is meant for more people, but again, we knew that, - still worth it though, and from 4 people up (to 8 max) definitely an excellent deal. Highly recommendable!"

Les gardiens Carole et José sont d'une gentillesse exceptionnelle. Ils ont été très à l'écoute de nos demandes et de nos besoins, nous ont donné de très bons conseils sur les visites à faire aux alentours. Le gîte était d'une propreté remarquable. Très bien équipé. Tout le confort est réuni pour que le séjour soit agréable, il ne manque rien. La cheminée est clairement la belle surprise de ce séjour. Le cadre est également magnifique. Bref, rien à redire, nous avons passé un excellent séjour et nous gardons précieusement cette adresse, sans aucun doute nous reviendrons y passer de très bons moments. Très belle surprise. La maison est très belle, super équipée Tout est de qualité, de l’électroménager à la vaisselle, aux chambres. Chacune avec sa salle de bains, ses toilettes, sa télévision, ce qui permet d’avoir son autonomie. Les enfants ont profité de la piscine au maximum. Maison spacieuse et agréable. Gros point positif et particulièrement apprécié, chacune des 4 chambres a sa propre salle de bain, ses toilettes et sa télévision. La piscine est bien entretenue, et les gardiens (qui logent dans une partie de la propriété) sont très disponibles. Nous avons passé un bon séjour reposant. Deux petits bémols : la télévision commune du salon devrait être plus accessible (difficile de la regarder à plusieurs), et quelques transats placés plus près de la location et disposables différemment serait un plus.

La maison de vacances telle qu'on la rêve. De beaux espaces, meublée et décorée avec beaucoup de goût et de soin. Salles de bain modernes, literie confortable, propreté parfaite. Il ne manque rien et tout est pensé pour rendre notre séjour le plus agréable et le plus inoubliable possible. Accueil chaleureux assuré par une adorable jeune femme qui est chargée avec son époux de l'entretien de la propriété. Ils habitent à côté ce qui est appréciable en cas de souci. Le gîte est environné de forêts, champs, etangs, on est donc parfaitement au calme. Sans oublier l'espace piscine ( bien chauffée ) très bien aménagé et entouré de verdure et de fleurs. Une adresse à conserver précieusement et à partager ! Un grand merci pour ce très agréable séjour !

Het vakantiehuis ligt op een eigen landgoed en ligt hierdoor in een erg rustige omgeving. Iedere avond konden we vanuit de woonkamer en vanaf het balkon de reeën het veld zien oversteken. Rond het huis hebben we (twee gezinnen met kinderen tussen 9 en 15 jaar) ons supergoed vermaakt met het privézwembad en de vrij beschikbare mountainbikes. In de directe omgeving is het kasteel van La Bussiere een leuk uitstapje en is er in Briare een mooi aquaduct te zien.
