beach, pools, room, service met my expectations for a luxury 5 star restort. Highly recommend it if you want a relaxing getaway in a beautiful setting.

The one major drawback is it's remoteness. The hotel is located in a nature reserve. It's a ten minute drive to the main gate. If you haven't rented a car which you don't want to do because the roads are awful, you are going to pay lots just to get in and out the place by cab. Really hard to recommend W Conchal if you are looking to explore the area, visit nearby towns or eat out. If you are there for a week, add $400 US for transportation to and from nearby towns and at least 60 to 90 minutes (to and from) every time you venture out. W has you hostage for your stay and their food is hotel resort average and expensive.

Had some problems with getting the correct full order on room service.They would forget a coffee cup.Live forget better or something small like that

The premises are fantastic, the surrounding breathtaking nature is unbelievable, as all of the nature in Costa Rica is! Of course, Playa Conchal where the hotel is, is the best beach in all of Guanacaste (northern province of Costa Rica) with its white sands and turquoise blue water, you can only be grateful that you are there and cannot ask for more! The room was awesome in every way. Magnificent ocean view, dual shower heads, a super comfortable king size bed, big balcony, big sized room! Friendly staff!

The cocktails suck. They need to use natural products to make them. There's a man on the beach with a small icebox who sells cocktails that are a trillion times better. This food is so so. I mean for the type of hotel that it is, and for what you pay per night, the food and drinks and service must be spectacular always and it isn't the case. In the night at the bar of the main building they had live music, which I should call dead music because it was super boring. They need to make people feel like they coming back to life! The place is fantastic but there's no ambience! I don't mean to destroy the hotel reputation, so take it as constructive criticism to make things better. Overall the hotel is great but it is worth revising the quality of the food and drinks which are essential to the reputation of any hotel chain!
